rsp, 29 Apr 2011I am using tatadocomo post paid.Some data download (2gb) is... morec if u wanna specifically remove the 3G wat u can do is go to Application>Settings>Wireless & Network>Mobile Networks>and disable data roaming... this will surely solve d problem...don worry

Not durable as the display went into mess when it fell from just 0.5 mts. Not like any other Nokia mobile.
Rest of the feature with apps wise is good with this phone.

i like to buy galaxy 3 so much.
I have to use it more on business purpose only,
is it suitable for that, email/ sms?
Can i do typing easier and faster like black berry phones?
Is the email services using galaxy as good as blackberry mail services?
Please help me buddies.......
I postponed the plan of purchase , because of this.

Surprised to see in 1st bill that they have charged considerable amount against usage of 3G net work.I used internet but never used MMS or video calls. Upon asking them to stop 3G net work they said it can be stopped through setting in mobile handset.I m using Galaxy 3 GT-I5801. Pl tell me how to turn off the 3G network.

AnonD-4093, 28 Apr 2011finally aftr all d troubles i was unable to upgrade my g3 t... morei also faced the same kind of problem when i rooted my phone in 2.1
in my case the phone didnt recognised and usb connection no matter its mass storage mode or kies mode. it with just charge as if i had plugged it to a charger and not a computer.
well i went to privacy and did the factory reset option.
that cured the problem.
you can try the same but that will uninstall all apps on your phone

finally aftr all d troubles i was unable to upgrade my g3 to froyo..but can not connect the device via kies nymore..mass storage is working fine ..reinstalld drivers too bt no luck..still kies cant recognize my phone..
does nyone know how to fix it..?plz b active in d forum

guyz i am trying 2 update my g3 to froyo..i hv gt d new firmwr notification officially via kies..bt when i strt upgrading..aftr few mins an error occurs "THE OPERATION HAS TIMED OUT" plz help,,is it my netwrk prob or samsung server prob? somtyms aftr 28%..smtyms aftr 10% downloading d msg box appears..plz help

hey guys, i am facing a problem with the froyo and just wanted to know that is it you all facing the problem or is it just me.
the problem is like i have stored the icon of angry birds on the fourth application window but whenever i restart my phone or even transfer data to my laptop with, the icons gets back to the first application window and even the shortcut disappears from on the homescreen and does not come back even if i disconnect the wire.
i know its sounds pretty easy to just move the icon of angry birds again on the fourth home screen but its not that easy when you have to move about 25-30 apps again and again to there desired position after every time i connect the device to my laptop.
the applications get rearranged in the application window according to there names but this thing only happens to those apps which have been moved to sd card.
to explain my problem clearly let me give you a example...
i have angry birds on fourth window, angry birds rio on fifth, raging thunder 2 on fifth and talking tom on sixth application window. also my first window has only 3 lines filled that is the fourth line where apps icon can be stored is free/empty.
when i restart my phone, all the above named apps will jump to the first application window instead of being in there places and rearrange themselves in the order of there name.
NOTE- only apps moved to sd gets rearranged in the order of there names and not all other apps..
so i just wanna know if anyone else facing this or is it just me..
also tell me a solution if you know..

I have already upgraded my phone to 2.2 FROYO and using a 3G service but after upgrading the battery life has decreased drastically, and now i have to recharge my phone every 12 hours. Before the upgrade and with a 2g connection everything was fine.
Please help.

Samsung has already released Froyo update for Galaxy 3 through Kies almost a week back early around 10-Apr-11.
Official Samsung India Froyo update on Galaxy 3 is awesome. It took me just 20-25 minutes through latest Kies MTNL broadband connection at 1 AM to upgrade. There was no need to restore contacts, applications or SMS,. Kies is beautiful software to upgrade. New widgets and new bundled apps are part of this major release. Please go for it. I purcashed phone in China where i am not living. having difficulty registering with samsung and being able to get apps. I plan to us in USA also when travel. Any suggestions on getting apps in china and will they carry over if i swap SIM card for US carrier?

I bought this phone in China where I now work, however having trouble to register and get samsung apps. I want to be able to use in US when I return for visit. Samsung US says no record of this phone, however I think should work if just swapping SIM card. Any advice for these issues?
