I had bought Galaxy3 last week. I had a very bad experience with it. The battery life of it is so poor. Withing 24 hours, I talked hardly for half an hour altogether and used 10-15 minutes WIFI, the fully charged battery drained out fully. I talked to the people of Service Centre, but they could not resolve the problem. They android OS is too good, but their tie up with Samsung may bring them bad name. Samsung is always poor in battery life. Their 1500 mAh battery is equal to 1000 mAh battery of Nokia.

Although therz a Bluetooth on/off in the notification bar, it looks like I need to navigate to Settings - Wireless - Bluetooth - "Make Phone visible" check box, everytime I need to receive a file.. and it stays visible for only 120 secs.
It's a bit annoying.. is there a workaroud for this?

I've been using this phone extensively for a month now. Herez my opinion:
1) Swype is excellent, if SMSing and chatting is a major use, Swype is very useful.. more so for typing when travelling on rugged roads.
2) Battery backup is good, but the indicator is awful.. shows 100 and 90 throughout the day and drop to 50.. 15.. off.. in about 2 hours. other andriod apps don't help much either on this.
3) General response time of the phone is not encouraging. although the processor is 667MHZ, the 528MHZ Wildfire has a better response. Galaxy 3 does lag n stutter when more than, say 12-15, apps are opened.
4) Does not seem to support live wallpapers.
5) No secondary cam, so much for video calling.
On retrospect, I'ld still pick this phone over Wildfire largely thanks to Swype.

Anonymous, 25 Dec 2010Comparatively Spice Mi-300 is good android.. better sound ... moreI just compared to spice MI-300.. the main things i liked is..
1)HSDPA 3.6 Mbps in Galaxy3, & 7.2 Mbps in Mi-300.. 3G doesnt come free, we have to pay for it too, why not have a little faster handset.
2)Camera is good than galaxy.. spice has 5.2mp with flash..
3)Price is 2,000 less than galaxy.
4)It has a track pad & pinch zoom is good compared to galaxy, sound & also the screen is clear compared to galaxy3..
The only good thing in the comparision is Galaxy has good battery back-up compared to Spice. I wanted to go for Galaxy but i will buy Spice for its features & price.

Why do we are getting different type of information on Android 2.2 for Galaxy 3 I5800?
1. Some says they got 2.2 and they are not at all ready to help others on how to upgrade to 2.2. It'll be really good if someone gives a step by step procedure.
2. Few says they got it unofficially from some forums, how can a new user (like me) trust an unofficial upgrade? Is it really safe?
3. And i can't find any info about official upgrade to 2.2 all says Samsung guaranteed for 2.2, but i could find any.
Please can anyone help me and fellows like me to upgrade to 2.2?
Thanks in advance.
