Hi Friends,
I got official update from Samsung kies. What I did is that I flashed my phone with the latest asian firmware I5801ZFJPE and after that I connected to the Kies to take my contact back up to my phone. At that time kies said that there is a update available for the firmware and i updated it . Eclair users please try whether you are getting the update.

my default browser dosent work properly any another page except google dosent open in 1st time i have to refresh the page3-4 times and the speed is also slow in full range to please help

No doubt that it is an awesome phone at such a low price. The Camera and Sound, both will exceed your expectations. However, like other Android Phones, the Battery Back-up would give you little worry. My suggestion go for this phone if you want a budget Android Phone with good features. If you tend to get good Battery Life, check out some other options.

However, whoever has upgraded their 2.1 (Eclair) to 2.2 (Froyo) faced one or the other problem. If you wish to take a risk to get an upgraded version, please go ahead and have it updated. One more thing I would like to mention here. Android has yet to fix the bugs of 2.1 in 2.2 especially on Battery Back-up.

I think this one is an amazing phone...Picture quality and videos are clear ...music sound quality is good...very handy phone...battery life is good...Internet speed is good...touch screen is very responsive...chatting is easy...overall vfm phone...

But battery backup is frustrating..
Gets hardly 1 day.. But I think many android phones have the same prob..
Camera is ok and sound quality is awesome..
I expect it would have a better battery backup with froyo around the corner..
*The highlight of this phone is 'swype' which gives more than wat we expect..
I haven't experienced a call drop problem as many have complained..
It's a good phn in such a low budget..
Just go 4 it..

@sumit, you better go to your message setting>you'll find a option stating, convert 160*3 = MMS, say a NO to that, and your problem will be solved,
like others are saying you, to download GO SMS or Handscent, i would suggest you to go for Handscent, it has a option where your message pops up even though if your phone is locked. so that kinda very effective, aslo. you must have value added apps in your cell phone be it what ever. untill your phone gets 2.2 up-gradation!

it is because there are no default APN settings or mobile does not download it automatically.
So to get gprs working do the following:
first, call your mobile service provider and get APN name and APN Address.
then go to settings> wireless and network>Access Point Name. Create a new APN (just name and APN name was enough for me) with details you got from service provider and save.
Then tick Use packet data option settings> wireless and network>Use packet data.
Your gprs should work....
Have fun with froyo.
