It will get right... Install battery booster from market.. It helps a lot.....
Dont worry about battery for first 2 months.. Later it will give upto 3 days life... (With Medium usage)...

Well, tonight I plugged my phone (GT-i5801) into my PC, Kies prompted me that there WAS a firmware upgrade, PDA:JH2, Phone:JG1, CSC:JH1 however it fails to install, i tried contacting Samsung’s Twitter but have had no response yet.

The E shows in your screen cos of the EDGE technology the internet connection that you access.
what you have to do is follow the steps.
1. Applications ->
2. Settings ->
3. Wireless & network ->
4. Mobile Networks ->
5. Access point names ->
6. Create New APN from the menu
then type anything to fill the fields the save Name
Select the new access point that you created then your Edge will disappear.
or you can delete all the access point in the phone
hope this will solve your problem

I am a resident of Mulund, Mumbai, India. I am facing this peculiar problem of network... when I'm in Bandra (dats where my college is) an "E" sign is seen on the top, near the battery indicator and because of that all my calls get disconnected within 45-50 seconds... besides I see that when I call mostly the calls just don't connect but those are seen connected on the cell phone where I'm calling... But no such issues happen when I'm in mulund or in other suburbs of Mumbai... Damn harassed by this problem... If someone has faced by this problem and found a solution to this thing, please share it with me... I would be really grateful to those who would help me with this...

I bought it in Mumbai India for Rs 11,500
Its a good phone, touchscreen response is good, battery life is also gud lasted me for more dan 1.5 days with bit of all features including using wifi nd downloading apps frm android market....
camera isnt dat gr8 nd lack of secondary camera is the only thing that hurts a bit !!!
It will get slower,but nt much that you get irritated, as you fill it up with more and more apps but that tends to happen with all cell phones today.
In all its a good cell phone it has'nt been much time i bought it so its nt a long term review

The battery indicator is incorrect...It drops down directly from 50% to 15% or 5%...I think that this is a frimware issue but i am not sure...Could it be a hardware issue???
Otherwise the phone is really AWESOME but Samsung needs to fix the battery bug..

superuser gone after upgrading 5801ddjg firmware to 5800xxjp9
Hi there,
I m a 5801 user from india was having 5801ddjg firmware 2.1eclair rooted and upgraded to 5800xxjp9 firmware 2.2 froyo. Everything is working fine but i dont see superuser anymore. In phone menu it shows kernel rooted but the superuser app has disappeared after upgrading. Now for gps fix, terminal emulator & live wallpaper i m not able to do anything. what should i do for enable the superuser i have already rooted but without superuser i cannot do anything? should i again root my phone for 2.2 froyo or for 2.1 eclair?

after successfully installing froyo i m not able to install flash. do any one else have the same problem. i m using 5801 india and flash it with 5800xxjp9 firmware. froyo is working fine but when i open flash download page it shows "the download is not found". any one please guide

at first i very much wanted to get the HTC wildfire,which is a 3K costlier than samsung i5801, except for the 3 mp camera and without flash,the samsung i5801 outwits the wildfire for its price and also the same features and also slightly powerful(so i bought i5801,but i very much liked the HTC sense)my next phone will defnitely be a HTC... i5801 for now i am happy and satisfied

WOW... my first touch phone and its rocking man for its price... the best mid range android smart phone... swype texting is amazing... if gven a froyo(android 2.2)update it will be 'the best'.
