it will upgrade to 2.2.
try to see the official press release or the official video. just google it then u will know. by da way i m going 2 buy p500 4rm lg [ optimus one ]
it has 2.2 os already + large LCD[more pixel] + strong gps** + 512 mb ram*** + 600 MHz pro
if u have pc then u might know ram is more important than processor.
and gps on i5801 is very very week. u have 2 instal some app to make it work,
r thunder2 game is not running properly although it has 667 MHz processor but some other htc or samsung will run it in good quality with only 600 MHz processor.
why ? coz they have more ram, if not then they have small lcd.
coz if u have bigger lcd then u need bigger gpu to run a game with full quality.
u need proof .....ok Raging Thunder2 can be played better in i5500 y? coz it haz low cpu but also small lcd. ok

one guy says that this phone cannot upgradable to
froyo 2.2 he is wrong
this phone can upgrade to froyo 2.2 but it cannot
upgrade 3.0 gingerbread this is an best phone u can

yes guys dont buy this phone...the cheated everyone mentioning as it is upgradable to froyo2.2
next time i will never trust samsung...
samsung service is also pathetic....
my last mobile brand was sonyericsson...better i stick with it

I have been using this phone from last one week ,features are really amazing but there is only one problem which i am facing i.e my battery is draining out preety soon and that too without much usage of wifi and 3g,it does not even last for a day,guys if anyone can help me with this problem or anyone facing the same prob..

uninstall it completely....
u just need one software i.e. advanced task manager..
after that whenever u feel ur phone is slow open advaned task manager and click on "End All" applications...
and it will en all uselessly running apps including itself...

I Mailed and called up samsung about the froyo update... Got same answer NOT UPGRADABLE TO ANDROID 2.2.. when i asked wats the reason its not updating as is meets all hardware requirements... They said we dont know nd company ne msg diya hai not upgaradable... THIS IS REALLY UNFAIR....

hello ppl... i hv bought ma galaxy 3 i5801 5 days back.. it workd grtt till 2 n half days... bt nw its taking too long to open up applications, mainly d messages it takes about 5-10 sec to open ma msg whn i tab on d shortcut...
i installed "antivirus free" for android 2.1 as i dint wantd to get a virus and i couldn;t find out ne othr antivirus, bt ths prob is coming since thn...
whn i scan ma phn with d antivirus it says tht it found suspicious files in "content" n says 80 contacts, 2 bookmarks and 70 msgs..
since d phn i snew i hvn't copied all ma contacts in it.. n i guess i m havin only 80 contacts in it.. are all ma contacts a malware??
i dont undrstnd why d phn is gettng slow... i just bought it n it had grtt reviews...
sm1 pllzzz help... tell me wht d prob is..?? shud i uninstall d antivirus..?? coz i read smwhr tht thr r no virus for android.. n it doesn't mattr whthr u hv an antivirus or not..
