yogu, 15 Sep 2010thanks for your feedback vivek.... but by using task killer... moreYa i agree with you that task killers slows down your phone... But try like this... Open task killer program only when u needed, and kill your task killer program along with the other programs... So tht task killer program wont run all the time... It will run only when u open it... Thus no slow down in performance... That is how I keep my phone... Cheers...

Hello everyone, Thank you a lot for your great opinion. I've decided to buy this mobile tomorrow. But I want to be clarified about one thing, When you send sms in group does the sending process go in backgroung or it pops up service notification after every sms being send.
Thanx again.
Awating for your help.

To get more of battery, enable wifi/edge etc only when needed. Reduce brightness. Don't use vibration, tactile feedback etc. Mine lasts for 2.5 days (60 hrs)

Yogu, 14 Sep 2010hi this is yogu... i have got this mobile before 3 days....... moreI think the anti-virus is the culprit. Moreover, don't use task killers. They kill background processes which will be loaded again by the phone when we open an app again. So there will be a lag. For android, there is no need for anti-virus. Most of them are just eye-candy feel-better apps.

is a tack killer really needed for this mobile? wat will happen if the applications which i opened previously in the background? will it drain my battery fully? i have installed advanced task killer in my mobile.... it makes my mobile very slow at times like opening my gallery and turning my mobile in landscape mode? is it really required for this mobile? i mean the task killers or a task manager?

hi this is yogu... i have got this mobile before 3 days.....and would like to share some of my pros and cons of this mobile which would be useful for the buyers. i have got samsung galaxy 3(i5801) and the price is 12,300.
Pros:
1. Very bright screen.
2. Touch response is great, jus a small touch is enough.
3.The android OS graphics is really inovative i mean the widgets, the shortcuts icons, the notification bar and everything.
4.Swype method is really very easy. first one day struggled a bit and got 65% accuracy. but the third day got more than 95% accuracy. its better you mess in landscape mode with the swype keyboard.
5. The file manager makes the job easier where all the stuffs like bluetooth files, the images, videos gets stored.
6.Mobile tracker works well.
7.Smart dial is really very very good.
8.Ringtone volume is average... Earpiece volume is also average... Not as loud as Samaung Jet......
Cons:
1.I installed some basic android applications like task killer, dictionary, antivirus, etc but as soon as i did that my mobile became very slow. My roration of the acclerometer was very slow. But as soon as i uninstalled all the applications my mobile was fast. So felt very disappointd that i coulnt even download even one application even i have an androir OS mobile.
2. I am not satisfied with the battery performance. It doesnt even last for 24 hours, which is the most pathetic part in this mobile.
The above mentioned are the main two very big cons of this mobile.... if anyone can tell me an alternative for the above mentioned cons i will be thankful to you....my rating would be 6 out of 10 for this mobile...bye guys

A little help for my friends here :
1. For messaging related problems try handcent app.
2. You don't need Task Managers from any Android phone. It automatically maages memory. Applications run in the background for faster loading. If u absolutely need one - try Advance Task killer or Active Task Express.
3. Try LaucherPro(free) to make it look better.
4. Use BatteryStats free for battery indicator related problems.
5. You can use Nimbuzz or Trillian(best for me) for Messengers.
Btw, do u guys know that u can't send more than 20 SMS in a go in this phone ;-)
Overall GREAT phone to have in this budget just like Samsung Monte.

Hey guys, first of all a massive thanks to this community. It helped me a lot to make my decision. I bought my Galaxy 3 finally. So now i can share my bit of experience with u guys.
1.1st and foremost it has a decent LCD display. And plx for heaven's sake donot compare with an amoled-display. FYI u wont even get an androd with amoled under 20k and u just invested arnd 12k on this phone.
2.Battery backup is good, considering its online on the go-anywhere anytime. it gives around 2 days of backup (with full ample internet surfing ,but no 3gas i dnt have a 3g connection). and yeah there is a battery indicator problem. it shows bogus values sometimes.
3 User Interface is good. its awsome infact. If u are using the samsung keyboard u can smoothly type in text without error(almost). And the Swype technology is an icing on the cake.
4. wifi has a gimmick here. u can only connect to hot-spots and access points. u cant connect to an ad-hoc network made from a pc. (although win7 has a feature thu which u can connect to wifi on pc).
5.GPS is a bit of mystry. i'll comment on it after some more time with my cell.
6.There are no in bult program killers. Once u open a program and press back button it keeps running in the background. U can only close it using a task manager.
this is a bit annoying.
7.Camera is good. Its autofocus feature really helps. But alas no camera button. :( :(
8.If anythinf else u wanna know. U are welcome. :()
Regards!!
