when i have finished downloading email the connection still remains live with the icon on above the battery icon. the only way i can stop it is to switch my phone off then on again. does anyone know another way to disconnect without switching off the phone. thanks.

                  Mike,

The battery life depends on what you do with the device. If your going to be using WiFi and leave bluetooth on and make calls on a regular basis then no the battery life isnt that great but then again this will be the same case for any other deivice out there. Also HSDPA drains the battery really fast and even heats up the device a little.

My i600 is an Orange branded one and it came with one normal battery and one extended battery. The extended battery really makes a difference but the only downside is that its a bit bigger so therefore you need to use a different back cover which increases the thickness of the device but not by much and it still looks pretty cool and thin.

I only use mine for instant messaging, email, sms and talking on the phone here and there so I only need GPRS. I have disabled 3G and this has made a huge difference and it now lasts me a good two days. With the extended battery it lasts for a good 3 days.

No problems for me what so ever but like I said it depends on what you do with it.

When you get the phone, put the battery in it and charge the phone for about 4 hours. Then use the phone untill the battery dies completely then charge it again for about 2 hours or how ever long it takes for the battery to fully charge.

Thats it. Don't worry too much about it. But do remember to let the battery die out completely every so often. This will make the battery more efficient and it will last longer.

I ordered my Samsung i600 Blackjack and im expecting it early next week. Im just wondering, for how long should I charge the battery the first time and can I use it until it goes down and then charge it or should I charge it directly before using it??

                        Great forum and comments.
Could anyone who has US Cingular (ATT) service and an i600 working in such network tell me from 1st hand experience if they can access and reach HSDPA speeds? Is there anything you have not been able to do the same compared to the ATT branded counterparts? anything better besides WiFi and webcam? Anyone knows why The Samsung website advertises FM radio?

I would really appreciate straight forward answers as I might get one for my wife and one for myself.

                        Thank you all!

Any owner of I600 has comment on its battery life? Some review says the battery life is too short (last for 1 day) for slim battery. Is it true?

Guys if you struggle with Skype, there is a solution. Install the software called FRING which interconnects different service like Skype etc
                                www.fring.com
And it works very well on my phone

Friends, some people mention they have information from Samsung about the update to WM6. But on all the questions where this info can be found, never an answer is given. I can not find any info from Samsung about a possible update. please tell us where you found the info or do not spread out self made info. thx

Thibout, the processor is too slow to make skype calls, nobody can do. Chat with skype goes fine, calling is impossible as it blocks the phone.

great phone, really amazing! i'm using it for like a month or so and it's really excellent! ok the keys are a little bit small but you get used to it very quick! but i have 2 problems: 1. i can't use skype for calling and 2. can anyone give me a website for downloading games and apps because most of my downloads don't work on it (he says it's not compatible) nor are the games or if the games work, the resolution doesn't fit the screen. and can someone tell me when the update is gonna be ready?

                                        thx a lot
