You will be right Ling, this samsung is a great device. In my company we all changed mobiles and had the choice between Nokia E61i and this Samsung, Samsung won the voting and seems nobody regret the choice.About the Ghost voting on this forum, It is known from other Forums too that Nokia babies try to bring their devices to a higher score and do the inverse with their competitors. Do not think Nokia is happy with this but babies stay babies....so just let them play.. :-)

Must be nokia fanboys that bring the score down drastically. I bet they vote 0/0/0 for this great device

            Hi

I bought this phone around a week ago, loving it. I downloaded Opera Mobile Beta 8.65, seems good!!

Only question is, how do I load Opera Mini on this phone? Everytime I try to download, it states that this file cannot be viewed on this device.... any suggestions?

            Regards

I am interested in purchasing the i600. I read in the forum that Samsung is offering a free update/upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.0 Is it the full version of smart phone version? By the way a word of advice for the Samsung people: If this product had touchscreen feature it would have been extra awesome. Anybody know any plan by Samsung to provide touchscreen feature in the near future? If so I will wait till it happens. Thanks and please contact me at my email address.

                Thx for the clarification!
Got the brochure and also not similar to the one I held. Let them sell it to me as an i600 and I'll drag their sorry @rses to court for misrepresentation.

Had a look at this phone today, but it doesn't look similar. The one I saw had no camera on the front and at the back there was a camera with what looks like 'speaker/microphone' perforation holes on either side of the camera. Does not look like the pictures on here.
Samsung care to explain this anomaly?

to Pak Abu, yes you are doing wright...First connect with usb cable to your pc then go tointernet sharing on the device, you will get an immediate connection. Go on your pc to internet options, connections and click the case...dial whenever a network connection is not present...it will work perfectly...i600 is one of the best smartphones i ever had and i can tell you that i buy and try all the latest models, from Nokia e-series to HTC...

                            Hi All

Need some of yr experience with i600 when using it as a modem.

What is the actual way to set it up as a wireless modem?

Previously i was using a O2 Mini II and quiet happy connecting to the net (using it as a modem).

But now with this i600 i don't know how to set it up as a wireless modem on how i did it for O2 previously. Last time i used to create a dialup connection and as at when i wanted to connect, i'll just dial up.

But i really can't figure out how to do this with i600. I notice that once i connect the phone to my laptop using the USB cable, it will detect a network automatically (ofcoz after i've installed the CD pack in the first place before plugging it to my laptop). And then, i will use the Internet Sharing application to connect and it will terminate the first network and create another one. And now i'm able to browse to the net.

Did Microsoft removed the dial-up networking (DUN) functionality from Windows Mobile 5.0 but replaced it with Internet (Connection) Sharing instead?

In the past with using the DUN functionality, a connection was established from the laptop. This means, the connection was created on the laptop by dialing *99# and configuring the APN on the laptop as well. Then, the connection was initiated from the laptop and the Windows Mobile smartphone was just a dumb modem which received all the commands from the laptop.

Is this the correct way in using i600 as a modem? Tried to google around but can't get an answer.

                            Truly appreciate for any comments.

                            Thank you.

                            Best regards,
                            Pak Abu

on some webpage, people mention about a battery with extended power to use in the samsung blackJack. as Blackjack is almost same mobile... any idea if we can use it in the i600 as well and if it really helps to extend the time between two rechargings ?
