I... moreYou correct. IF this phone would of come last year around October I would of Buy it. Now is too late. I have my Omnia which is best Phone Samsung ever made, Iphone and my N79. Why would of need this phone. The N97 from Nokia coming shortly in by the End of the March. Why would of buy this phone.
I had also INNOV8. It look good and build good but had problem. It was Slow, and Iternet problem. It would not do same Nokia S60 to configure the new network for internet access. I had alto of problem each time change my SIM card. So, this phone i7110 S60 probably have same problem.

and too thick?!! you kidding?!! look at nokia phones and SE phones? they are cheap plastic, and thick as hell!
Also, i don't know if you're reading the news! but Samsung is getting up there as far as the sales go.

@Anonymous:
Where did you hear the phone has bad GPS, a slow processor, and poor reception? The reviewer over at AllAboutSymbian.com disagrees with you, he says this is a great phone. Keep in mind he reviews top end phones for a living. Where is your review website? You also don't understand too well about why this phone can't get into too many markets. I'll give you a hint, it has to do with the FM transmitter.
I'm guessing you own an Omnia...

BTW:
Omnia is out for very long time with very similar specs - except Omnia better.
I do not see the point for waitng this model - I guess Samsung agrees - they are not in a hurry :)
Omnia:
- much larger screen
- touch screen
- much more memory!

Outdated!
List? :)
1: not available for most areas
It was suppose to be released
Obviously, the specs did not get better
2: OS
3: memory (limited!)
4: GPS will not work well
Slow processor, memory, poor reception
5: too thick for the 2009/2010 market
and only 5mp camera for this thickness
(6: the price will be too high!)
This model already got a very poor review!
As time goes the model is getting more and more outdated!

Quick update on the status of this phone: Samsung has announced that this phone will be available in Singapore by the end of this month. Also, for those interested, the manual for this phone is available in an English pdf on www.Samsung.com/ae this is Samsung United Arab Emirates website. After looking through the manual, this phone is definitely worth the wait!

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2009Anybody still waiting for this phone? los.rs? It is t... moreThis phone has features only seen on a handful of new top end phones. OLED screen, FM transmitter, 5mp camera with smile and blink detection (and the ability to shoot 120fps slow-mo video), Divx playback, realaudio playback, and geotagging. And a 1200mAH battery. This phone is far from outdated, if anything it's still ahead of the pack. This is phone is miles ahead of the Omnia. Also, it's currently being sold in Russia.

Leo yew, 19 Jan 2009this phone starting selling at singapore pls check sg.samsu... moreWhat you mean this phone out. Go back to the Web site http://sg.samsungmobile.com/index.jsp and see what it say as it say every where you read. Not there yet and say up coming........ it does not mean they have it. As far I know they have alot of problem introducing this phone since has compatibility problem with Nokia Software. I had INNOV8 and had all kind of problem with being slow and software not compatable with Nokia. but quality of phone was great.

It does have Stereo Speakers, but no 3.5mm audio out. There will also be a few tweaks to OS, however still no compatibility with most Nokia apps. Any major hardware revision, like a better GPS chipset or 3.5mm audio, will probably result in Samsung releasing a new model. This phone is part of Samsung's new GT Series, along with the INNOV8 (the new I7xxx and I8xxx model lineup).

Do you happen to know if they modified the final retail version so that it will have stereo speakers and a 3.5mm jack connection? Or is the final version (pretty much) the same as the (semi)prototype Gsmarena recieved earlier?

The phone isn't cancelled. It is going to the UAE and Singapore. Once it reaches Singapore, we should be able to get it from eBay, so that's good. I don't think this will have a US release any time soon since nothing has been submitted to the FCC yet. The same thing happened with the F700, it was a big deal here in the US (to Samsung fans at least) but never actually made it here.
