I'm quite happy with mine, posting from it now, actually. As soon as the shop I work in got one, I signed up for a contract straight away. The battery life was, at first, appalling. It originally lasted a few hours on standby. After a couple of overnight charges, however, I'm getting a couple of days of good use out of it, including the wifi, bluetooth, and GPS. Everything works pretty much as advertised, for me, but I'm beginning to feel like I have the only good one in the world. Two of my customers have since sent theirs back on warranty for a number of issues such as sifnal strength, battery life, and wifi network discovery. My evidence is obviously anecdotal, and may be subject to a bit of selection bias (maybe its just our shop), so I'd like to hear some other stories, preferably from people in phone shops, about the hardware fault rates others are seeing.

The standby time is realy VERY short. I am sure this is because of software problem. I'd suggested to Sumsung do not put there any shity software and use pure Android. If you do not know create software - do not do it. Do the hardware and Google will do the rest.

COMPATIBILITY QUESTION
Does this phone works with AT&T 3G Network?
I was thinking about buying this phone and go ask at the AT&T store to give me a 3G SIM Card... right now i have a BlackBerry Curve 8310 so i don't have a 3G enabled SIM Card, and i am still under contract so i don't want to brake it, plus i'm happy with AT&T... do you guys think they will give me a 3G SIM Card if i tell them i bought an Unlocked 3G Phone?
THANK'S FOR THE INFO

I whole heartedly suggest NOT TO BUY this phone. Battery life is disastorous, there are bluetooth issues (only 120 seconds visibility duration!?), you can't send data via bluetooth without some additional application and so on and on. Android itself has some glitches (at least on Samsung Galaxy). Physical lock key is erratic and unreliable. I can't emphasize any positive quality compared to similar mobile phones on the market. Especially at this price range.
This is my first Samsung phone and I am very dissappointed. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

THIS PHONE IS RUBBISH!!
Im from Melbourne Australia, and anyone whos thinking of buying this phone, DONT!
- The operating system is full of bugs.
- Screenlock has a mind of it's own
- Phone cuts in and out of reception
- Battery life is terrible and very erratic
- Bluetooth doesnt connect to any phone other than android phones
- Not all apps work
And the worst of all: - The PC Suite, doesnt 'talk' to the phone, this is VERY annoying.
BUY SOMETHING PROVEN AND TESTED! STAY AWAY FROM THE SAMSUNG GALAXY!!

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2009Can someone confirm or deny if this phone works on the USA ... moreHere you are my friend,
The Samsung i7500 is the Korean manufacturer’s first official Google Android smartphone, featuring a 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera and T-Mobile 3G support.
Samsung answers the call for more Google Android smartphones with the I7500 handset, which will be available in Europe this June. The quad-band phone, which features a 3.2-inch AMOLED touch-screen, will be compatible with T-Mobile’s 3G network in the United States
Like the T-Mobile G1, Samsung’s smartphone will have deep integration with Google’s Web services like Google Maps, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Talk. To stay connected, the I7500 comes with Wi-Fi, EDGE, and 3G capabilities that can get up to 7.2 Mbps downlink speed.
The Samsung i7500 Android smartphone will also ship with a 1500 mAh battery, an internal memory of 8GB and a microSD memory slot supporting up to 32GB cards. Furthermore, the phone supports Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0, and comes with a microUSB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Unlike T-Mobile’s G1. the only other Android phone on the US market, the i7500 doesn’t appear to have a QWERTY keyboard. It seems to rely instead on a virtual keyboard on its touch screen. The i7500 also differs from the G1 in that it has a standard headphone jack—the G1’s lack of a standard headphone jack displeased many users.
With two Android handsets already available from HTC, the G1 and the HTC Magic, the i7500 will be the first Android-based handset from a major phone company to hit the market, something that could be a huge selling point for the device. While the G1 has been popular since its release. The smartphone measures 4.5 inches by 2.2 inches and is 0.46 inches thick. Pricing information has not yet been

Anonymous, 02 Oct 2009It is quadband and therefore works with any GSM network.the person was asking if it worked with tmobile u.s.a. 3G freq not if it was quad band. tmobile u.s.a. has their own freq (1700)when it comes to 3G internet. An iphone is quad band and can work with tmobile u.s.a. for phone calls but att's 3G freq is a different band so the 3G service would not work. just food for thought.
