The coolest phone i got! I really enjoyed the easyness of wi-fi. Good GPS (although i have to install "GPS gate" to get/ synchronize coordinate instead of blue dot on Google Map).

Good processor speed (624 MHz) and good design of Qerty keyboard.

Unfortunately, consumable battery. Overall i rate 8.5 of 10 :).

    hi ..just purchased i780 new..
    i am very happy to get this handset...n enjoying internet via wifi..good speed.

      I would like to upgrade it to WM6.1. As suggested I tried using the link provided by you, but when I key in my version and click on OK it syas "The version you enetred is Incorrect....."

      My phone version is DDHE1. So how do I upgrade?

        Been having a play with this phone today.. When you press the mail shortcut button ( bottom right ) it brings up the choice of various inboxes for SMS, email etc..

        is it possible to program this so that it goes directly into your email inbox instead of this initial menu option. ??

          I never experienced that kind of problem. RealVGA works flawlessly in my i780. Why don't you play with it more? like toggling the "Disable phone skin"

          I still have lots of useful tweaks for this device. I'll post them all here when I have time.

              but i wanna ask you, i try installing RealVGA and also install 96dpi pack, it did have a more high res look despite very small text ;) but when i activate the 96 dpi settings the phone and contact button in the screen cannot activate when i press it. so now i uninstall the RealVGA and sets my phone back to 128 dpi...

              any ideas?

                Hi All

                I have been using this phone for just on a year now and I can without a doubt say that this is the best communication device ever to come out of any manufacturer. Its GPS is flawless with Garmin XT loaded.

                I have upgraded to WM 6.1 and can now view MS Office 2007 docs as well as edit.

                Its email facility works like magic with direct link to my Outlook exchange server.

                Call functionality and contacts are well organised, as well as all very user friendly.

                This phone can be customized in every possible way to suit your needs.

                Also, if you spend lots of time on Google, you will find many 3rd party free applications to make the phone even more flexible!!

                I would give this phone a full 12/10!

                Get one and enjoy.

                        My i780 is Windows6 and I saw i780 having Windows6.1 too. Can I upgrade Windows6 to Windows6.1 and if yes how?

                          Hi guys! I've been using this unit for almost a year and the experience has been a nice one even though windows mobile is a bit rough and finger unfriendly:) The unit itself was functioning perfectly, and i really customized it much with apps like spb mobile shell, pointui, inesoft phone, spb keyboard to make it almost a perfect touch/business device. It's really a nice unit and i recommend it to everyone especially for it's durability, reliability and great features and battery life. Even if the screen is 320X320 you can install almost anything on this sucker:) Regards!

                            you can go for Palm Pro (released in October' 08), which has a touch screen and a keyboard but does not have a mouse pad. all other features are more or less the same.

                            But i like the i780, since i have got one, cuz i like its mouse pad alot, it is very handy.

                              Got a Samsung i780 for 8 months now, and I'm going to tell you that its really good. Just buy it and the windows mobile world will welcome you to download anything for this phone.

But i am little bit thin... morehi i have a i780 and very happy with it. for one reason, i never have to use my stylist, cause all the opionts are big enough for my finger and the typing is also easy, but it does take time to get use to,
                                the only down fall i have i cant get games to work on it, mapping is great,, i give the phone two thumbs up...cant wait for the upgrade,of this model.

                                        Hi! anyone please tell me if the msge alert tones can be personalized...how about the resolution? I can see it is has 65k colors. does it have profiles like that of nokia and can the screen display be personalized?
