dan, 06 Nov 2009would u recommend the phone for a 16 year old ive had black... moreI am about to sell my Storm on ebay!!
Omnia is perhaps more advanced Dan, but I guess as you will have grown up with the tech you will manage it fine. I think you would find it hugely more enjoyable that the Storm, but keep your Storm for a while to make sure, I will s post when it would be a good time for you to sell!!

I have spent a lot of time looking at reviews for this phone and all the pros give it very high marks, even a glowing report from gsmarena who i trust a lot.

Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Brett Wilson, 06 Nov 2009This phone does not live up to it specs. Beware! The phone... moreBrett, as I finished the last posting, a resolution came to mind about your slow OS. You can change the CPU performance of the handset. Check what it is set to, and perhaps make a revision to the settings. This should help considerably.

Brett you seem to have a dud on your hands. I have an Omnia with 6.5 on it and have none of the issue your report. True landscape does not happen in every application, and I guess a firmware update or third party application will fix that. I did have some email problems as I mentioned in an earlier post but thanks to Mark Wallace at CPW (UK) they seem to have been sorted. I do find it takes time to set the phone up properly and I am learning daily about it. Evn though not 100% with it yet, I do feel this is a good possibly great phone. The screen and battery cannot be better, and the camera is good as well. Call quality is perfect, and therefore overall a good bit of kit in my experience. It always seems that the earliest released phone have more problems. Try to see (Brett) if you can exchange yours, if there are any legal grounds for so doing. I am sure with 6.5 on board the problems will be fewer.

This phone does not live up to it specs. Beware!
The phone operating system is very slow. If you reply to and email you can type three letters before the first one is displayed on the screen. If you rotate the phone to landscape the screen changes to landscape after a delay of 3 seconds. The phone will not remember WI-FI configuration passwords and will try and use GPRS instead of available wireless connections (costing you extra money) The scree is not sensitive and I find I have to tap harder than i want to to get a typing response. When a call comes in I have the phone set to loud (cos I live in China) and the fist three rings a soft because the phone takes so long to wake up and increase the volume to what I had preset.
The email reply scree is very small and the font cannot be changed to show more clearly.
The opera Browser has a home scree you cant change and the favorites sections seems to be unresponsive unless you tap very hard.
I have tried to turn off the "Tap" sound when typing but very attempt has failed.
My friend has a new Iphone and he showed it to me an all the problems I have experienced with this phone he has none.
I tired to download the MyPhone program to allow me to add additional programs to improve the phones usability but the phone must connect using a phone number which does not seem to work. I tired the website to download this MyPhone programs but it is unavailable.
The windows update is also unavailable for this phone so I am at a loss as to how I will update the software to WinMo 6.5
I did not buy and Iphone because I thought I wanted a better camera but now with all the issues I have with this phone I seem to have made a poor decision.

Thanks a lot! Hmm...I haven't had any hands on experience with a Samsung OS phone before so i'm not sure what to expect...my dopod before has WinMo and i've always been fond of WinMo (except that i like how I can customize themes on Symbian. One thing that's really bugging me is the fact that Jet doesn't have any qwerty keyboard on portrait mode (one of the things that i'm not liking about the nokia 5800) and I heard it can't open office files (?)...i'm not sure if it's because of those that it's like 1/3 less off the price of Omnia. (Basically here in Manila Omnia 2 is around 31,000+ and Jet is 22,000+)

Reia, 05 Nov 2009I've tried several smart phones and my last experience with... moreJet has Samsung OS where as Omnia is Winmo. I have Omnia and it is giving me problems. Jet is fast and smooth, and only if you need easy file transefer between your computer and phone does Omnia have advantages. Omnia is top of the Samsung range and has more media features.

I've tried several smart phones and my last experience with Samsung is with the Omnia i900. I'm planning to buy another Samsung phone (my current is a Niokia 5800) but i'm trying to decide between Omnia 2 and Jet. I checked the specs and they're pretty much at par. Except for the back design and screen size what exactly sets them apart? From where i'm at they have a pretty big price difference and I want to make sure i'm buying the correct one for the right reason.
