with due respect with omnia fans i got to compare the touch resposiveness of this to iphone 3gs and the verdict ---iphone is still the best, its the truth. anyways to each his own but iphone 3gs flows better.

I see a few problems with i8000. First auto-rotate only works for video and photo screens. My old i900 Omnia 1 auto-rotated at any time. Can anybody knows what`s happening? That`s a very annoying experience. Also unlike Omnia I there is no settings for auto-rotate, like sensitivity...
for this i think it depend on ur seeting...

I love this phone very much...when you change into SRS WOW HD in Touch Player, Omnia 2 brings the new sound, especially bass.

My Omnia II in addition to lacking an auto-rotate in messaging and internet does not inform of an incoming voice mail. What`s wrong with it? Mine must be faulty.
Also where can I get a firmware II, updated ROM, i hope that would correct all the glitches in it. I will greatly appreciate this info. On Samsung mobile site there is almost nothing to this phone, rediculous tech support unlike SE...
Aside from all the trouble I love the phone expecially the ability to play movies on TV.

Val, 24 Aug 2009 Agree that auto-rotate on specific programs is probably a ... moreSadly, it may be faulty. The phone is supposed to rotate during messaging and internet. Those are both very important. It shouldn't be a firmware thing... I got my phone about two weeks after it came out so I doubt we have different versions.

i actually have a sam0mnia, not the best phone in the world doesnt really do much however i dropped it in the toilet awhile ago and it seems to work much better! strange but true. i would definatly reccomend trying it, the phone runs faster and smoother. result!

I think the Omnia II is really a great improvement from the previous Omnia, even compared to the HTC Touch Diamond II.
I did a comprehensive review here with lots of screen shots and highlighting most of the programs that comes bundled in the PDA.

One thing that i really don't like about this phone is the back cover. Been wondering why does samsung's engineer choose to use that ugly black plastic as the material =(
