ashk, 29 Aug 2009Hi ANONYMOUS, I'm really confused & need a swift reply f... moreN900 is better than both of them (if you don't need WinMo). Maemo (real Linux) is the way to go (and then I'm not talking about something like the semi-Linux-based Android).

The technical sheet of processor S3C6410 of Omnia II from the following link is clearly shown how this processor work:
        http://www.samsung.com/global/...10_rev40.pdf

The processor can operate on following speed as below

        •533MHz @1.1V
        •667MHz @1.2V
        •800MHz @1.3V

That why Omnia II has CPU performance throttling feature (Low,High..etc) and it is 800Mhz if set at high.

GSMArena, please check and study and correct the mistake, your main page new added comment is still wrong as you guy never go study deeply how this processor work.

          Hi ANONYMOUS,

I'm really confused & need a swift reply from u pleas.
I'm planning to buy either an HTC HD or SAMSUNG OMNIA II???!!!
Concerning the HD I've heard rumors about the battery life and of course no led flash ,the OMNIA II, u wrote something about its touch screen and the OS function???

WOULD U PLEASE LET ME KNOW UR OPINION REGARDING BOTH PHONES AND WHICH ONE DO U PREFER ?

I understand it does not support multilingual keyboards and searches (Hebrew etc...)

I had enough with this experience on my first Omnia, having to install a crooked third party software, and was totally disillusioned with it.

The iPhone 3GS has fixed this point, and it makes it the best choice in smartphones for non-english people.

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2009wow 16m color became 65k 800 mhz became 667 really... moreIts actually 16 M colors.. but unfortunately, WinMo 6.1 limits it to 65K only, that's why the Omnia HD a.k.a i8910 has 16 M colors, because it uses symbian60 OS...

It's said that WinMo 6.5 will support 16 M colors.. we'll just have to wait and see.

Also, the Device has a 800MHz CPU not a 667MHZ CPU.
And it doesn't have a capacitive touch screen because WinMo 6.1 doesn't support it.
However, WinMo 6.5 (windows phone) will support it.

As the New Acer F1 (S800) smartphone will have a 3.8" capacitive screen and WinMo 6.5 out of the box. (rumor has it that it will be released in september) i don't recommend it over this phone though.

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2009wow 16m color became 65k 800 mhz became 667 really... moreeven tho omnia 2 only has 65k colors, the amoled screen is still way better than any other phone screen. if u look at that screen comparison video, compare omnia 2 to iphone 3gs, and omnia 2 has way more saturated colors. the iphone 3gs screen looks very dull in comparison. even if iphone 3gs screen is brighter in sunlight, that is due to amoled cuz amoled does not use backlight :] im not saying that 65k is better than 16m cuz obviously that speaks for itself. but a good 65k screen with good contrast and colors can be just as good as a 16m colors screen (if not better) cuz in human eyes u can only see 65k colors anyways.

umm i think gsmarena is wrong about the cpu. the older version of it which was previously used on iphone 3g was normally clocked at 667mhz( but apple underclocked it to save power). the newer version on the omnia 2 is normally clocked at 800mhz.

                      16m color became 65k

                      800 mhz became 667

                      really shame on

wow...im real disappointed at how the omnia 2 touch player wont play any video bigger than d1 resolution... they should have least made it wvga res since that is the phone's natural resolution -.- this is actually similar to the omnia hd touch player that would not play anything higher than 720p res. Hmm, since this is winmo os we r talking about, i hope some developers can find a registry edit to fix this :/

How come the cpu of this phone is now only 667MHz processor, dedicated graphics accelerator? Before, gsmarena.com and other websites list 800MHz?

oh and a lot of thing reviewers havent noticed is that omnia 2 has cpu throttling. doesnt tell u that exact speeds u can clock ur omnia 2, but there r 3 settings: high, normal, and low. out of the box the omnia 2 is clocked at normal. setting it to high increases performance dramatically and doesnt take up a more noticeable amount of battery either :]
