one more thing about the audio quality of the video recording. sometimes you get loud background noise or hissing sound it's because the mic is soooooooo sensitive in the omnia hd.
i have flashed to 6 different firmwares x 20 hhahaha. it's because the audio of the video from the latest russians, Hong Kong, Itanlian firmwares have loud hissing background noise. AFter i went to the "audio_tune" *#0002*28346#, i adjusted the "camcordsps_amr and comcardarm_armr". after that, the camera was dead!!!!! i did hard reset and flashed to different firmware, but the problem still persist. the camera is working perfectly normal without the hissing sound after i did a "format C:drive" by pressing the "call+menu" +"end" buttons!!!!

-keep in minds, the mic of this phone is super sensitive. when you record videos, don't put the mic too close to your mouth or anybody's mouth. the sound will be distored.
-you can even make a high quality ringtones by using "voice recording"!!!! if you dont believe it, you can test it out. the audio source you're using must produce a high quality sounds, for it to record a high quality audio.

Press telephone and type *#0002*28346#. A menu will appear. Now to up the Music playback volume via the headset.

To up the music via Headphones:

In the menu select:

select 2. Play Sound
now select : 2. Mp3 HeadPHN
Follow the settings
Fine gain 0 db (Default) No need to do any thing
.......
Coarse Gain 06 db (default) dont do anything
......
HS Gain is 0 db (Default) change it to 6db, just tap on it then type 6 then # thats it...
......
Analog PGA -2 db (default) not realy need to change it, but to avoid damage ur haephones/hearing its better to set it to -4 db, just type 4 then * (for the negative values) then # and u r done.
......

To up the audio level during video playback:

Via speakers:

* 2. Play Sound
* Now press: 3. Mp4 LoudSPK
* Now change (4) PreDR Gain to = 6db. Type 6 and #. And your done.

Via headphones:

* again 2. play sound
* tap on 4. MP4HeadPHN then change the coars gain from 0db(default) to 6db type 6 then #...

To make sure your settings are saved go back to main audio tune screen and select “back-up”(if u dont hit the backup those settings will go back to their default values after u restart ur phone)

for example:
-main menu- you have 1.voice call, 2.play sound, 3.record, 4.vt call, 5.fm radio, 6.back up.
-go to "play sound", then go to "mp3 headphn", then go to "coarse gain"--------------this has lowest=0db,highest=12db, step=6db-----------------meanings you can select the level from 0,6,12 ONLY!! select level by 6 sequence only because the "step=6db" says 6db.

you only need to adjust the "coarse gain" and "maxpgain" only!!!!!!!!

"maxpgain" allows u to enchance from 0db-20db maximum. If you set it to 20db, it will burn your headphone/headset, and it also will damage your eardrum. Just don't turn the volume up to maximum when listening to mp3s, then you'll be alright.

you do the same thing for "mp4 headphn/loudspk", "ring loudspk/headphn". cheerss!!!!

bro. currently i m usin transend 3.5 mm earphone and it doubles the music experience in it,and one more thin the earphone provided with omnia hd is also v. powerful coz when i tested it on my sisters nokia 6300 [ via 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm converter ] it was v.v powerful,means the nokia 6300 which costs only 6,000 rupees beats omniad hd 27,000 rupees interms of music in headphones,and it is only and only becoz omnia's equilizers cant be edited

hey frnd currently i m using a 16 gb memory card with it,i have filled 6 gb of my omnia's inbuilt memory with movies and songs but it still works perfectly,the only thing thats creating problem would be an infected third party application that u have installed coz when i was using nokia e90 i had this problem once,so u can check it

Dev, 10 Nov 2009Sorry fr a delayed response jai, Yes this phone is "kinda"... morehey dev i dnt agree with ur comment that u have posted earlier [ Yes this phone is "kinda" large,n if ur a fan of those xtra tight jeans,it wont let u get on your bike with ease(or maybe sit on a chair).ull probably have to keep it in your shirt pocket or hold it in hand or keep elsewhere while geting ur butt on base.but walking around(upright) with it aint a problem '' wat the hell ur saying bro. the length of this phone equals all other my previous smartphones like nokia n93,n95 and e90,the only thing is that heavy bulk has gone. i use to wear tight jeans and i dont have any problem. there is only one phone only one phone that can beat this phone interms of its slim sexy size and that is apple iphone,but it didnt mean that it beats omnia hd interms of its multimedia powerness.

Maybe I was a bit off the mark with my comments and know myself the Satio is anything from perfect and Omnia HD blows it away for Video but I have heard the audio quality was not the best when recording videos but maybe I am wrong.

I originally wanted the HD until I picked it up and was just too big but I can imagine it is a really good machine and was just being a big daft with my comments yesterday.

omg, have you guys tested out the new opera 10 webbrowser? its super fast and easy to use. its just like iphone web browser or even better!!!!!! u guys should try it.

hi friends
i cannot get hold of the 16GB version here as only 8GB version available. pls if anyone can tell is the any difference in 8GB and 16GB except for more storage. some earlier post suggested some sound quality difference or was it just the old firmware. the warranty is up to date and i dont mind the storage difference if there is no other difference.

hi friends,
i cannot get hold of the 16GB version... all that is available in pakistan for right now is the 8GB version. is there a difference except the less storage as indicated on previous pages? does it has something to do with older models and newer models? the warranty is up to date thou.. the storage doesnt bother me if there is no other difference..

pls lemme know, hamid, xxx, vbhv007, dev, anyone?

who said the omnia is big like a brick? r u out of your mind. the thickness is less than 13mm u retard. compairing to the older model phones before, 20-25mm!!!!

i don't own a sony satio, but have used many sony phones before. i can tell you this, the reception is the worst of all!!! Satio is a lot thicker than this phone. the back is bulky due to the stupid camera cover!!!

this omnia hd is a true multimedia phone. Dual stereo speakers give the best movie experience. speakers are loud and clear!!! u can make it louder by going to the advanced settings.

With all due respect to the Satio, I want to tell you that I have already made my choice and I am extremely satisfied with the Omnia HD.

Buddy; Satio might be a 12 MP phone but it is RESISTIVE. Once you use a capacitive screen, you would know what I am talking about. It's about not looking back. No comparison what so ever. Go to a showroom, try it out and then talk.

Agreed, Size is big but the screen componsates for it big time. Omnia is big but you seem to think that Satio is tiny...hummmmmmmmnnn......!!!!!

It feels really solid and firm once in your hands.All the keys are tightly fitted and there is no wobbling or an insecure feeling while using any part. At the same time all buttons are easy to press and comfortable to reach.

The other half of your question needs a little more refining as I don't have a really big Micro SD Card to test its speed & efficiency. I am using a paltry 2 GB card which along with the 16 GB is more than enough for my requirements. But the Indian firmware still has scope for some improvement which many of us are waiting to be taken care of (A worldwide firmware release is expected soon).

However inspite of that, the overall impression of the Omnia HD is awesome and one really "HAS to SEE" it to truly appreciate what many of us have been trying to communicate to prospective users.
