I have gone over to the Samsung store here in Singapore and played extensively with the Omnia HD, and I am sorry to say it is not an I Phone killer.

Oh... there is no question that the screen is second to none. There is no question that the video is great. But, this phone will go the way of the dodo because of two things: the lack of multi-touch, and the archaic Symbian OS system.

Multi-touch: Let's say you want to expand the font on an email so you can read it without your glasses. HD - go to a menu (drilling down), increase screen font size). I Phone - Spread two fingers. Same for photos and such... you can double tap the HD to get a zoom (but it decides how much) instead of just using two fingers to zoom however much you want.

Multi-touch: The HD typing interface is not user friendly. I made far more mistakes on the HD than the I Phone and a big part of this is multi-touch. I Phone can tell key sequences... HD cannot.

OS: Drag your finger across the I Phone and movement is instantaneous. HD, it moves, sometimes with a lag. Things just aren't was well organized because Symbian is a drill down menu systems that doesn't really take advantage of touch screen capability.

Bottom line: The HD is a technical wonder and if you are a gadget freak, you'll love it. But, if you want a phone that is intuitive to use, the I Phone wins hands down.

hamid, 04 Oct 2009Thanks my friend, im so intrested in buying one, but some ... moreHi Hamid,

If you are planning to buy a A2DP headset for music listening I highly recommend Jabra BT3030. It comes in two pieces, the "dog tag" bluetooth tranceiver and a detechable in-ear earphones using 3.5mm jack. The earphones are very good by itself with very deep bass, while the BT3030 tranceiver itself has very good quality audio and deeper bass than the i8910 output itself! Yes - you read it right - the BT3030 produces better sound output than the i8910 analog output! And there is absolutely no degration in sound quality via the wireless A2DP transmission.

When a call comes in while you are listening to music, the music will pause and waits for you to answer the call. You can answer it by pressing on the "call" key on either the BT3030 or the i8910, then you can start talking to the built-in mic of the BT3030 tranceiver itself. You earphones will provide the voice output from the call. When your call ends, your music will continue from the point it paused earlier.

Also, the BT3030 will give you 7 hours of A2DP usage in a single charge. Even after the battery runs out, you can still plug out the earphones from the BT3030 and plug into the i8910 to continue listening to your music, if you want. Dual purpose for the price of one!

I have been using my BT3030 since January last year with a Nokia 5610, then Nokia 5800 in January this year, and still happily using it today with my i8910 (since August)!

I use't to be a Nokia fan but bit the dust and bought the i8910 hd. Truly a great phone in every aspect. I even get 4 days of battery life which is amazing.Solid build ,fast and sound is great, have no regrets. Think that change is good sometimes.

I have the Jabra 620's. Have had them 3 years. They have a new model out now. But I can tell you these are terrific.

                      I don't notice any degradation .

I got iphone because this one was not available yet through Voda in Australia. Life is too short to stick with one brand.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2009Hamid Use bluetooth stereo headphones. no stupid wires.... moreThanks my friend,
im so intrested in buying one, but some say the too amount of sound compression rate for transfering digital sound to an A2DP compatible device would degrade the sound quality and it would even be worse than the device's wired analog output quality!!!
Is that true by any means?
I mean have you ever noticed any issue in audio quality with your a2dp headset than your wired one?
I also want to know which headset you using? And how is its sound quality and loudness?
                          (Too many questions sorry)
Im about to buy one but theres plenty of them available on the market and have no idea which one is better.

I would be very thankful about your comments

                          Cheers

This phone rules, runs on symbian same as most new nokias but has HD video playback and recording, nice cam as it records HD, sounds ok but not best, Very fast but can crash if you overload (not turning apps off and letting them build up) But i disagree with every one the batery life is great, can last 2 days (message and phone calls) or about 7 hours listening to music constantly (tested)
