Wow, I just had purchased the Omnia (not this one the previous version) and I'm pretty impressed by the features it has, and so far this seems like a more enhanced; with better tuning; programming embedded into the phone itself, still...keeping it slick and easy to slip in your pocket.
So far, by what i've heard, and read. It sounds like its a pretty cool phone. I will be definetly waiting for this to come out.

I debate this myself but my decision will be based on availability as I am ready for a new contract now and the iphone seems to be about the best that is available now here in Australia. Hurry up Samsung, before you lose a customer and I get stuck with an inferior product for the next two years.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970It is NOT officially launched in India. It's in the 'upcoming' section in the Samsung India website for last 4-5 days. So my guess it should be launched near 15-20 August. Price should be around 31-32K for the 8GB version.

AUDIO TUNE SETTINGS FOR OMNIA HD
Incredible music after the Audio Tune settings. Tremendous Bass effect..
Please follow the steps to increase the bass effect for Head Phone.
Press telephone and type *#0002*28346#. A menu will appear. Now to up the Music playback volume via the headset.
In the menu :
select 2. Play Sound
now select : 2. Mp3 HeadPHN
Follow the settings
Fine gain 0 db (Default) No need to do any thing
.......
Coarse Gain 12 db (select coarse gain,in the setting scree in the bottom type 12 #. Done.
......
HS Gain to 0 db (Default) No need to do any thing.
......
To make sure your settings are saved go back to main audio tune screen and select “back-up”
Feel The music & Enjoy super Bass..
Best Media player EQ. setting would be "Rock" & sound effect "Wide"
Note: This effect will be for Head phones only..
Love u Omnia HD.. HD ROCKS....

hmm guys, if you guys think that you could use a stylus / pen on the omnia HD, your wrong. since its a capacitive screen, you have to use your fingers, unless you pen/stylus generates heat. lol. that's why there is no pen / stylus available for the iphone as well.
Anyway guys, i am really trying to decide between omnia II and omnia HD. which do you guys think i shld get? i really like having WinMo as the OS(omnia II), instead of symbian (omnia HD). but could anyone help me do a rough comparison on which they think i should get?

jl, 03 Aug 2009I wonder when will Samsung release this phone in Singapore.... moreyea.im waiting for the phone too..i heard this bad news on 31th july itself..i called samsung to ask wad tym are the launching the phone.they tel me tt they are not even launcing it tmr which is 1st aug.damn sh*t siya singapore's samsung.i have waited for this phone for so long.and samsung tel me tt the shipping delayed.they give alot of nonsense.they are just bulls**ting in thier website tt it launched on 1st aug.i think it mite delay a week or more..sian.

does anyone know when this phone is coming out on any other network apart from orange in the uk because there were reports of august and im still waiting for any news on this phone i am on o2 and dont really want to go onto orange but will have to if there is no news on this phones availability if anyone has any information it would be much appreciated because the waiting is killing me and i dont fancy the 3gs and the palm pre is too far away my contract ran out in may and im long overdue a new phone :-(

I wonder when will Samsung release this phone in Singapore. According to it's website, it's suppose to launch last Saturday. Yet today I went to check it's still not out. How sad this is

very good audio

should be able to visit any site in the web...(flash support....etc..)

good and easy UI
800 Mhz or 1Ghz processor
and other features in omnia HD and N97
cost is not a problem..... (45k-50k RS (indian))
I think a phone with such specification is not available..... so how long should i wait before it is available in INDIA?

This is a quote straight from the review (page 2): "The Omnia HD screen is better by the recent crop of Samsung phones, but still remains inferior to the Apple iPhone displays, for example."
Their main complaint seems to be legibility under direct sunlight, but it seems to me that they're clearly says that while the i8910's screen is superior to other Samsung phones, it remains inferior to the iPhone.
Aside from that, the comment wouldn't make much sense if it was based solely on sunlight readability. Other recent Samsung phones were much better for viewing under direct sunlight.
