The fact there´s not any cellphone with HD videorecording in the market don´t allow to Samsung to lie and make marketing tricks. The specifications are very clear "720p 24fps." It never happen. By the way i´ve never liked the korean products.

As far as spec is concerned, you are all right. This phone is amazingly feature rich. This is, for the time being the perfect replacement for the N95 8GB.

At the time, the N95 8GB, in my opinon was the most complete phone in it's day. But not once did I have any issue with the device. The phone worked from day one and still continues to work. No firmware upgrade required.

I got my i8910 from Orange as soon as it was released and am still waiting for a satisfactory conclusion regarding all the bugs the early version of the phone has.

Theres no denying that the is a bit of a multi media tour de force. It's just far from acceptable to still be waiting well over a month for the firmware to put the issues right to be released to all those UK i8910 users not wanting to debrand.

I've even had my latest post on the Samsungmobile.co.uk website removed for being "aggressive". Not at any point did I use foul langauge, I simply spoke of my experience so far when dealing with Samsung and Orange.

      Maybe the truth hurts.......

Hopefully Samsung and Orange will help me out.....I don't hold my breath.....but I do have my fingers crossed :)

      Regards,

      Kam

I forgot to mention this as well, a word of caution for those that are getting the phone unlocked for use in the U.S. with AT&T, The phone might not be used for 3G access in 2010 due to a band switch in the network from the 1900mhz that they use now to an 850mhz. Just a note of caution. any answers to my previous questions would definitely be appreciated though

All answers will be deeply appreciated Thanks

Guys the GSMArena review is saying that this phone is not as good as expected. IT IS NOT SAYING THAT THIS PHONE IS BAD.

So what if Samsung have made some changes to its specs. This phone still has the longest spec sheet ever. This is a question to all those who think that this phone is a failure: can you think of atleast one other phone with so many specs? No? I didn't think so.

I've had this phone for a month now and I have to say its nothing like any other phone I've used before. Ofcourse Symbian does not offer as much eye as the iphone. But the omnia hd is in a very different league compared to iphone. It depends on what you're looking for: is it a phone that has a fun to use user interface? or is it a phone that is as capable as a desktop computer of the early days?

As for the N97, it has a much slower processor, less RAM, worse camera and generally the user interface is much slower compared to omnia hd. I say this from personnel experience. Also the N97 will be less reliable because:
                                  - Nokia has been cutting costs in making their phones reliable and last longer
                                  - Omnia hd has no moving parts at all which means you dont have to worry about anything breaking. As long as you don't play basketball with your omnia hd, I'm pretty sure it'll last very long. It'll be interesting to see how long that sliding mechanism in the N97 will last.

As for the Satio, lets wait for it to release before we make a comparison all right?

To those who complain that HD video recording is not true HD resolution; you have the right to complain when there will be another phone on the market that will be capable of HD recording. For a feature that has never been on a phone before, I think its brilliant. If you're looking for something to record your next hollywood movie, just stop whining and get a proper camera.

Yes the phone does have a few glitches in its software. The phone is still in its infancy stages and S60 v5 software is still relatively immature. Every phone has teething problems in the initial stages. Give Samsung and Symbian some time and they will fix it.

Read the review…..shame they didn’t have the courtesy to review the extremely buggy Orange branded i8910 when it landed back in May! I know if they had, I would not have got the phone at the time. It’s a pretty lame review…especially the conclusion.

After months of trying to seek help from the support guys at samsungmobile.co.uk I finally called Orange. Apparently all Orange can do is fill out an online Samsung questionaire whereby a Samsung representive will hopefully contact me……fingers crossed

I can’t believe how badly the UK consumer has been treated by Samsung. We all know that Orange’s software is flakey but why Samsung UK could not and has not released the latest firmware update to all, via their website is what one can only describe as very bad form by Samsung. In my mind they shown nothing but contempt for all those early adopters. They advised me to take it to Samsung service center. Up on getting there I was told they would need to send my phone away?!?!?!?! and for up to 3WEEKS!!!!!!!! why did Samsung not tell me this before I went there……They really are out of touch with their customers and their service centres.

Why should we have to debrand our phones to get it working the way it was intended to in the first place. This not only invalidates any warrenty but again shows contempt to all those who showed faith in Samsung when the phone was initially released through Orange. Even over at Orange who are always extremely helpful, the support staff have not even had a hands on sniff of the phone…….So much for being able to provide support for something which Orange branded……you can’t help but laugh at Samsung and Oranges sheer ineptitude.

The issues I am having with the phone are as follows:

                                    Phone freezing.
                                    Camera settings not saving.
Audio when recording being of poor quality.
Battery de-charging very quickly through little or no use.
Calls disconnecting even when signal strength is high.

All I want is the phone that I should have had from the off. It’s akin to trying to drive a Ferrari without an engine. I don’t mean to sound bitter I just don’t like to be treated with the contempt I feel consumers like myself have been shown.

I hope things get better and soon.

Hope you find my moaning helpful.

                                    Regards,
