LMAO. Now what Samsung gonna call the next real replacement of the Omnia i900. Samsung really shot itself on the foot. I think the name Omnia is no more... maybe Ainmo DH i876. They are definitely going backward.

I was reading some interesting updates of people here that just got the new i8910 with Symbian. Great!
But some people still say that this is the Omnia. LOL. Okay!
I got a real Omnia, and I still love my WinMo. I would pass on this gimmick "Omnia" HD.

Can someone tell me if the Omnia HD still use the low-quality AMR Narrow Band codec at 8000Hz 16 bit 2 channel 12.8 Kbps bit rate when recording???? The reason why: not to stress the ARM CPU too heavily when recording HD video...???

for installing apps u need to hack ur phone,im a symbian user from many years and it doesnt allow installation of unsigned files.For this search 4 nokia5800 hack n hack it,then install secman from binpda 2 ur phone,then u can install anything.

i had a fiddle with mine this morning and was able to download opera mobile and it works okayish. the thing that i noticed however is that initially the phone did not allow me to download it when my sim was in (using orange internet) but i then went offline (wifi - orange internet browser) and it downloaded with no probs. . . Now i'm @ wrk & don't have wifi access... can someone try to download & install some of the 5800 apps whilst their sims are out of their i8910 (offline) on wifi and see i that works.
i will give it a go tmrw morning if no one does & update you.

I downloaded something and i had the option of saving it on the 7.5gb or 44mb.....so i wont be taking this phone back now.
My custom i belive are the same as yours, i went into the menu and followed your step by step process to access this, and i got the following.
My one is -
Software - I8910BVIE2
Custom - I89100RAIE2
it then has the dates for both these versions as the 06/05/09, then it says...language set - 08.
Once again, thanks so much for replying to my questions. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

go to main menu-tools-Device Manager there u will find this info....
i'm asking because it's look like we have orange custom version and thus troubles with not signed apps.
My is : software version:I8910BVIE2
Custom version:I8910 ORAIE2
That ORA looks to me like shortcut to orange.

about the app, b4 u bough this phone u should be aware that its riquire signing and ceftificat, symbian haz always be like that. it is annoying but finding a symbian signing site is not that difficult
