o2 wont stock it i dont think (due to iphone), its not showing on their pre release sheets for at least 4 months. Thats why i have jumped ship from them to Orange, as i dont want to fork out a sim free price.
i think it will be the same for the N97 to start with, Vodafone are the only ones showing this for release any time soon.
o2 - iphone, Orange - i8910, Vodafone - N97.
Thinks thats how it will be for the next 5-6 months at least.

mark, 21 May 2009can that be fixed, sounds abit stupidYeah, from what i remember from N95 it can, you can alter the settings. I dont think its if the other persons phone is off (it just gets stored till they turn their phone on then), its usually because of lack of signal, but you can set it to auto resend after a certain time (1,2,3 mins etc). Happens mostly with MMS messages. You can usually edit the call log to display however many entries you want too. It just requires a good read of the manual. 'Pick up and play'is not a Symbian strong point!

mark, 21 May 2009apart from the web is the phone good all roundJust some things which i have discovered.1.main menu need one touch to choose all other subfolders need two touches(why?)..2.missed call is displayed on main screen in small window with option "call "-there is probably no way to turn this window off,you have to press call and than quickly press cancel button to abort call-no way to get rid off that window.3.text message-if person to who you are sending message has phone turned off, message will be stoped and in 5min.phone will try to deliver message again if no delivered-u will get message failed.that's it.u need to be keeping sending message over and over and over...I'm asking WHY ???? Haloooooo samsung why??? Why no apps. Are working??????

Im willing to stick by the Omnia HD and give it a chance for now. Everyone has their own opinion of what they like / use a phone for. Ive had 3 symbian phones previously, and very rarely try to download applications (in fact on my N80 i downloaded the grand total of 0). This is a new phone with a relatively new Interface (v5), so it will take time to develop apps that work correctly, Be it Orange, third party or whoever. Could i live without hundreds of Apps? i have done so far. Can i put up with the sound on recorded vids? Yeah, as long as standard playback is acceptable. No device is perfect, especially the first few months. Who knows, with time and development this could become as successful as the N95.

Sammy from Hong Kong again. Oh shit I will not buy this phone. You cannot even use opera mini! It is Samsung problem nothing to do with Orange. Wait for N97 then, what a diappointment! James, change for another model. LG renoir is even better you can intall opera mini on it and works wonderfully.

no apps,no support, alot of people will be turned off this phone or returning it by the looks of it. All the hype was over the hd recording and it looks like you have to pay the massive sum for that alone as other functions get passed over. that saying other samsung phones are equally poor in this matter, its very hard to get any apps or games running on my girfriends tocco

No, I ment that Orange probably loaded some orange soft on the phone and therefore it refuses to accept any 3rd party apps. In this case unlocking might not help, I think you need to flash it with the original ROM for Omnia HD.
                            Or buy unbranded Omnia HD...:)
I know when I had HTC Tytn II similar kind of flashing new ROMs solved a lot of problems.
But in this case (Omnia HD) I'm not sure aout this, just guessing... hope that some-one more techie with more knowledge about this will post here...

Orange do indeed have their own App store, its in the same place on the website as ringtones / wallpapers etc. I can see why they have done it, to Lock Apps that come from Orange, just like the iphone app store for just the iphone. Its a shame but thats the price you pay i guess, its a choice of live with it knowing the phone didnt cost you much, or fork out £500+ for the phone with free licence.

I guess Orange has not allowed third party apps as they are releasing their own 'Application Store'

I ain't going to get this on Orange if thats the case...
