Does anyone contacted orange???? Imo unlocking will not sort the problem of third party apps. Probably software need to be loaded again.
Maybe orange has blocked all third party apps. And we have to by them only from orange. I don't know what to do-this phone is becoming useless and slowly hated ;-(

Vidas, i think u might be right as all the reviews for this phone were based on sim-free handsets. if this is the case, will it help if i get the phone unlocked, i know its folking out more money but i deeply love this phone

has anyone experienced such probs on the symbian 5800 on orange? coz its the same OS as the i8910 hence the problem might not be the OS on orange but Samsung based.

Guys, Stefan, Mark, James, all guys here in UK, is it possible that this problem with applications is only on Orange branded Omnia HDs???
Maybe Orange spoiled something with the software, while the SIM-free Omnia HDs will not have this problem with 3rd part applications?

just received mine. loved this phone when i read its reviews & couldn't wait to get one. now that i've got it i'm dreading to open it as i know orange are a bit funny with returns. can anyone pliz conf that they at least had a single app work on the phone...this is going to be the saddest day ever :(

Bit rate: 1536 KBit/sec (this doesn't seem right?)

Well,
i returned my omnia hd today,
i cant really use it,symbian is all about third party apps and it doesnt support them...WTF..
WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO OF HARDWARE???...RUB OUR ASS???

I've tried installing opera mini, it installs but, u cannot use it, if you try to scroll, it cannot scroll, you can't click on anything in the opera mini. I tried installing gravity, talking dictionary and twittix for Nokia 5800 on Omnia hd, but it says file not supported. Its like it doesn't support any sis files, themes cannot install too, it says file not supported. any sis file i install tells me file not supported.
I will return it tommorrow, but i will try hard to find any apps working for it today, if i don't see i will return it tommorrow. may be i'll wait till June till other phones are released and choose another phone. thanks

Don't tell me no third party symbian applications can be intalled in this phone. Isn't this a symbian os smartphone? Ridiculous! Pls confirm as I am ready to buy as soon as released here in HONG KONG. I am too much attracted by the specs and the 3.7 inch screen of this phone. Even java applications such as opera mini, mmail etc cannot be installed? I cannot believe what Samsung has done to this phone then!!

I'm getting mine today...but, if i can't get any 3rd party apps on it I will definately return it n' get the touch diamond 2. just can't waste 18 mths of my life carrying aroung a useless toy. fingerz crossed, i hope i will still love it...

same problem here.I'm ready to return this 3rd party application nightmare.Did you tryes to install any web browser-opera mini 4.2-9.5 or ozone 3 ???
Please try them and let us know,they just don't work on my one :-(

Too bad it's not application-wise. I really wish the creator of omnia hd was Nokia. Samsung programmers are quite brainless.

To all those people who have the phone already,
Has anyone been able to install any 3rd party applications (such as those for 5800) and have them working 100%. If you haven't, what sort of error message do you get? Thanks:)
