yet another thing I would like to say is that i always hate how samsung launches their devices, as with the omnia hd, the original omnia also had a weird launch, some units available in Singapore at first, and very slowly trickling out around the globe culminating in the end of summer early autumn with readily availability.

Nokia seams a bit better at these releases.Cheers.

Hi I am the anonymous user who posted the long comment before,since I have not yet handled the phone personally I do not know, my current phone sports a 3.8 inch screen Touch HD and I feel that the reason it is a bit difficult to type on handed is not the size of the screen but the width of it and the resistive touch. The Omnia HD is thinner but also capacitative so I will not presumably need to exert force.
I was also on the fence with Nokia N97, so what I have done is pre order the Omnia HD with a return option within 2 weeks at full price or 50% within 1 year. Therefore if Samsung does not support it I will have to revert to N97

I believe you are right friend, Nokia will definately support the hell out of the N97 with all sort of updates etc. I just hope Samsung rectifies their customer service and truly capture the potential of this device.

Ultimately the device with most support will win the day i believe, until the next device surfaces

Samsung i8910 HD and Nokia N97 is the real phone, not prototype like Idou. I'm sure Nokia, Samsung, LG and HTC has so many prototype that a lot better than Idou.

so if u want lens cover simply buy a digicam. .lolz..

samsung engineers kn0w everythings best regards this phone.. and i kn0w it will hit the market eventhough it doesnt had camera lens cover.. just like the king phone n95 8gb..

It seems to me that the SE fanboys are bitter that Samsung has come up with a higher spec device regardless if it has some issues etc.

1) Idou is so far off SE presented with its internal codename not even the production name and please remember Megapixels is not everything, reviewers agree the nokia n93 with hardware optics produces the best quality photos (less noise etc) of any phone to date
2) SE has not been performing well in the last year, with the exception of the X1 produced by HTC. Too many Walkman phones, poor video on camera phones and so forth
3) SE has been slowly but steadily lacking in the smartphone department due to UIQ being terminated but you should respect SE for being pioneers with devices such as the p800 etc.
4) Nokia N97 is a very good device but the value of this device is not rally the hardware but the software services, ovi, and basically Nokia Support and Updates.
5) I am not a fan of any 1 company but at this time I have preordered the HD. Samsung may have made some errors but lets not forget that the final production phone has not been handled by any reviewer as of yet, and in my opinion its major drawback the poor audio codec is a software issue.

To cut a long story short, IF AND ONLY IF Samsung supports the device with development of applications and updates will this device or ANY device be truly amazing. Remember the N95 had a few problems but Nokia stuck through and now it is a legend, and still probably the best phone out there considering everything.

Do you th... moreyeahh.. you're japanese right? arigato lol.. last time SE was good is when they have k750, while nokia have n80. i think k750 and k800 is great phone. i'm still using one. but after nokia announced that classic N95 phone, SE have no answer.. Lol. All they can gave is c905. and c means crap! you have 8MP camera but the video quality is nowhere near. it's the same with lying to your costumer because they will inevitably thinks that if the camera is 8MP, then the video must also be good. Wrong! We are bullied by SE, and careless costumer gets the crap in their toe. Idou? yes, boring name i bet you will be even borer to wait for it... will not happen this year! wake up guys.. here comes omnia hd and n97. forget sony. they are sleeping..Zzzz.zz..snork!! Lol.

The Idou will be out if it is lucky in 2010 no point comparing the Samsung as there will be an even better Samsung for sure before the Idou that will be even better

Are you sure your technical information is complete ?! We are not mobile phone factories employees , we think free !!

no lens cover but picture/video quality still impressed me..

all you have to do is just handle it with care..

The Idou isthe first device from Entertainment Unlimited umbrela, the second will be the best phone on Earth, hahahaaha, coz Sony Ericsson Japan will make it, not HTC!!! Sony Ericsson Japan leave the biggest carrier for Japan, the Ntt Docomo, just to show their brain to the world, the result is the Idou!!!Now they focus on the European market, can you believe the second Idou device how good will be???
