No lens cover? No way. I was going to buy this phone, but now I guess I will wait for the Sony Idou.
Great job Samsung, you saved at least 20 eurocent per phone (plastic is very expensive nowadays). Who is the engineer, Mickey Mouse?

any news when this Samsung Omnia HD phone is releasing in UAE?nokia n97 is releasing here in june 09.I am a long time fan of nokia but after reading the features of Nokia N97 and Samsung Omnia HD i am really confused which one to buy?most probably i will go for Samsung Omnia HD this time.

Sony Ericsson has suffered a new setback as one of its latest flagship handsets, the C905, has suffered high levels of returns. Software freezing and speaker faults on the eight-megapixel C905 camera phone are responsible for returns as high as 30%, in some areas.
It follows mass recalls last year on flagship products, K850i, W910i and C902, due to freezing and crashing. Many operators sought considerable compensation from Sony Ericsson because of the customer return.

The reputation for Sony is very bad. There were 10 million Sony manufactured laptop batteries recalled in 2006 and 2007 due to overheating. Another 100,000 Sony laptop batteries were recall in 2008 because of a risk they may overheat and catch fire. In 2008, Sony recalled 440,000 Vaio notebooks worldwide because of a wiring flaw that can cause overheating. What a reputation. If you do buy a Sony Idou when it comes out, ensure that you don't put it in your back pcoket as it may get overheated and burn your a's.

When the Hell will I... moreI think he was blowing off steam..i dont know when its out but i had the n85 with oled display and some colours are really odd like youve turned the colour up too much on your tele..I am thinking about price as well as to release date,,with that big amoled display ans sony charging 3000 quid for 11 inches tv i hope this is not to ridiculously priced...

Very true, I do want this phone, I saw a dummy in Orange today, but they said they had no idea when it was out.
I Emailed Orange to ask and got this reply.

I am samsung CEO, so listen to me:
-next year samsung will release 2 phones with vga camera, like we can see in J serie.
-no need video recording coz our company has failed with it like the samsung Omnia HD. If u 1 2 use video buy a camcorder urself,
-we wont use rechargable battery any more coz we 1 2 help AAA battery firms. Our phones will use AAA battery instead.

This phone is the worst if you want to compare it to the Upcoming Idou!!! Sony Ericsson will announce in 28 the Idou, and maybe the Xperia2, people choose Sony Ericsson, not samsung! Samsung has ugly menu of their phones, I saw the Innov8510, oh my... is UGLY!!!
The next Idou phone will beat all the phone companyies of the world, maybe even Sharp(in camera and screen quality) SE will introduce optical zoom in their high-end devices. Samsung does not have a phone with 8 Mp and 3x optical zoom, BUT why??? They has only with 5 MP. WHY??? Coz they are weak!!! A lot of people sad this model is much better in camera quality, or the Innov8510, but is not true. SE has a phone with optical zoom in development!
