C'mon guys, Nokia N97 has a simpe resisitive touch screen! old rubish:)
Omnia HD has capacitive touch screen, that's it...
even not looking to other epecifications that are far better than Nokia's...
I vote for Omnia HD, with no exceptions.

Everyone keeps saying that the omnia hd is slow in responsiveness when out of most videos there only a couple where a PROTOTYPE! lags for a bit. otherwise it was smooth in most vids and it seems that people keep refering to it needing more than one tap to go to the next screen because its not responding but its obvious like for instance with the movie the first tap was highlighting before the second tap is what opened the video. and is far from bulky, a little long maybe but thats for the screen.

and for the n97 considering it having 2 memory modules and a slideout keyboard its not to big either. it will be nice just not as well roubed as the omnia hd in my opinion, yet still a good phone.

and to all who mention the iphone it was dethroned in different ways a long time ago way worse now. the only thing it still may lead in is touch response and apps but is in no comparison to any of these phones.

Omnia HD has all what n97 has..
                      except:
                      keyboard
                      Nokia apps
                      Nokia games

                      n97+Oled screen+8mp+Divx/Xdiv Player = OmniaHD

OmniaHD is a complete multimedia device, it can play almost any format. it can capture better images and videos.. i bet n97 will be more sluggish that omniahd in the final product, since it doenst have 3d accelerator and has old cpu.

                      OmniaHD>n97

I'm not sure if the 12.9mm counts the raised bit for the camera though.

I think the Omnia HD will be an amazing phone. No doubt its still early stages but im sure they can improve the software vastly from the prototype model. There will be some buggs but hey they will bring out software updates to fix them. Im heading more towards Omina HD instead of N97. I currently have N95 8gb but I just dont see the N97 to be a worthy upgrade. Im not a fan of the keyboard and Omina looks soo much nicer.

Me, 13 Apr 2009I'll take the N97 any day over the Samsung omnia or the lg ... morei agree with the comments made. Overall functionality counts more than anything that's why I said prospective buyers of Omnia HD should have a hands on comparison rather than falling for the hype.

Omnia HD prototype is definitely buggy. I saw so many instances where the phone didn't respond to taps on the screen. That's why I said it's slow to respond. Check the videos for yourself to be convinced. As somebody else said you are buying in to a complete package when you spend your hard earned money on a phone. Omnia HD is colorful but N97 UI and applications look very neat and professional. The user friendliness is with N97. Have you noticed the applications function in N97? It is like a warm knife cutting through butter. Omnia HD is merely a collection of widgets + basics with a beautiful display to please your eye. It's hardware spec is unmatched up to now. But what good of the hardware unless there are practical applications to match? And if they don't complement to the functionality ? However if Sammy's can come up with productive practical apps on board with smooth operation it might be worthwhile. This is my humble opinion and i hope these comments will help Samsung to improve the HD before release.Thanks.

As long as it is a good phone. Are you going to showoff the box? The people that will buy this phone won't be the window shoppers. It will be the gadget freaks like myself who research a phone in advance before it hits the market and look for the options it has.

I'm not sure why people look for N-Gaze in other phones. It's a nokia thing. If Samsung has it they will have a different name for it. If you really fancy a physical keyboard and looking for DBV-H TV and N-Gaze, you have no other option but to stick to Nokia only. Omnia HD is not bulky..it's more of a tablet phone than a regular phone, still you can hold it in your hand and use it. I would rather say N97 is bulky..its narrow but thick due to its physical keyboard. Finally it's all up to you. You can't have everything. In my opinion n97 and Omnia HD are not in the same category at all. thanks
