Anonymous, 23 Mar 2009another thing.. it is too big.Nah, the Omnia HD is not made to compete against the IDOU. The Omnia HD is all about the OS. Of course, staying with the Symbiam OS definitely sucks big time! I can see an Android with it, but the lack of the WM is a major boo boo.

The IDOU is in the 12 Mega Pixel camera war. This Omnia HD stays in the 8MP because there are already the Pixon, Memoir, and etc models from Samsung. That only means this 8MP release should have been dedicated for some OS phone.

Personally, I think that 8MP is enough. At 12MP, I will definitely need GOOD optical zoom with minimun delay time (i.e. a real camera). What I do need though is more RAM in the PDA phone along with the 16GB internal memory of course.

By the time Idou will be released, Samsung will have a model to match Idou's specs for sure. In fact they will have something more, maybe optical zoom...who knows.

For 250 euros i got a real camera casio S12 with HD video, and for 200 euros i get a nice Samsung S5600 touchscreen phone...That makes only 450 euros

Samsung Omnia HD will not released in Windows Mobile edition, but there will be Android Omnia handsets. The reason Samsung is picked Symbian over WinMo for the Omnia HD because of Microsoft's delay in launching Windows Mobile 6.5. Another interesting fact is that Samsung wants to launch more handsets from the Omnia family and some of them will run on Android.

This phone is too much !! Too big, too heavy, too expensive... I prefer to get the successor of my great Pixon, available in 2009 and hopefully with 12 Mp and HD video recording

only 128 of RAM !!!! they should upgrate RAM memory for Windows Mobile 6.5 , coz even SE X1 has more RAM memory but still has some problems with WM

hakan, 22 Mar 2009iphone shouldnt be compare with this phone. damn, this phon... moreNo, I would say that me-phone should not even be compared with the Omnia. LOL.

                                      2.0 vs 5.0 camera.

The only good thing about the me-phone is the touchscreen, hence the UI interface is better in some way. However, I can do better with a finger, stylus, and mouse. Just try to do some quick image editing. Mawahaha... I got the mouse!

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2009i dont think there will be a winmo version of this one.. th... moreYou may be right that Samsung should redesign the phone for WM 6.5. But based on the technical specifications and on the name of this phone, I believe that Samsung will bring this Omnia HD with WM.

The use of an ARM Cortex A8 is way too much power for Symbian OS. It can process 2.5x faster than the current Omnia processor at a lower electrical speed. Such processor for the use of a Symbian OS is simply a waste of money (or investment from Samsung perspective), unless Samsung plans to offer us an even faster processor for the WM. :)

Let's not forget that the Omnia has reached 1 full year cycle yet, not until this coming July.
