Either b... morei work for AT&T and i know the unlocking policies for the prepaid, and slightly for the postpaid, we dont unlock iphones only until the contract is done, if theres a contract, and if its not an iphone, and if it has a contract, then you would need to wait for the contract.. if you'd ask me, then its better to unlock it through third party websites than wait for the contract, i think the whole policy stinks for the customers...

sangeetha, 22 Jul 2010wt is diff btw nokia x6 and iphone 4Nokia X6 is OK for who doesn't need Apple store and Goole Maps and uses a phone for its intrinsic function. But Super AMOLED has not excuse, it is fuzzy, GPS on Captivate is show and so on bugs and bugs, poor quality sound and reception.

Someone please updates these specifications on these phones. Samsung Captivate does not have a Front Facing Camera, Offline FM Radio, PDF, Excel, Power Point and few more specifications AT&T has removed and replaced with their terrible and annoying icons.

I presume this is the same version that will be released in August for Telstra in Australia (AT&T and Telstra run the same UTMS 850/2100 3G network).

Either by getting the code from ATT, if they will give it too you. Say you're going to Europe. Or purchase and unlock code on Ebay or some local 3rd party stores will do it for about 15 bucks. You need to go to xda developers "google it" to learn how to root it or side load 3rd party apps....there you go!

Which BTW is not a real Retna display. If you want to compare TFT to AMOLED of any type, just walk into any carrier store and grab a flip phone, then grab an OLED device. you'll see a tremendous difference.

Samsung said that TFT will never catch up with Super AMOLED. Yes, after years of research you see no large OLED display yet. In the meantime TFT won all market: small and large and very large displays kicking out inclusive Plasma from the last niche: very large displays. Actually the funds for the research in OLE comes from selling TFT TV sets. Now it remains if OLED will get a chance. So far all OLED screens offer just an over saturated pixelated image: AMOLED needs space among sub red, blue and green pixels to isolate them with a black pitch; otherwise the light floods in the adjacent sub pixels by light diffusion because all sub pixels light by themselves in all directions. That black dye separator among sub pixels is visible and that is why the pixels look visible on OLED. For TFT the light comes vertically from backlit on sub pixel cells which are LCD filters and turn on or off on whole sub pixel area and the whole area occupied by red or blue or green sub pixels blocks the diffusion in the adjacent sub pixels thus TFT afford to have very close sub pixels and high density. In Super AMOLED technology the black separators among red, blue and green will never allow pixels to be very next one to another so that to create uniformity and sharpness at close look. Hence actually Super AMOLED will never catch up to TFT. OLED as Plasma are good for a distant watch.

But iPhone's TFT is way better for text than Super AMOLED which is very fuzzy for small characters and one can see pixels in thin lines.

Super AMOLED versus any TFT with the same size and resolution is like looking at CRT versus TFT with the same size and resolution. That fuzziness is on Super AMOLED. And don't forget CRT was also with higher contrast than TFT and TFT took the place of CRT and Plasma. Super AMOLED is as clear as a good CRT or Plasma. Though CRT, Plasma and Super AMOLED have higher contrast than TFT and true blacks, TFT is much sharper and clearer for small details made from few pixels.

PenTile technology used in Super AMOLED is the root of fuzziness for smaller text: through some optical tricks they use RG-BG sub pixels instead of RGB sub pixels like in TFT thus emphasizing green light (the eye is more sensitive to green) by reducing number of sub pixels on screen, to create an optical illusion for higher resolution; when you have geometric images on screen made from regular shapes the optical illusion of high resolution is failing. This PenTile is a compromising technology without future, a transitory step in display evolution.

Here in California no Galaxy had in store screen protection with film and yet the dithering is miserable, having to do with bad AMOLED technology; BAD PIXELATION COMING FROM AMOLED DOES BAD DITHERING. Any TFT is better for the same size and resolution.

It is not about iPhone. I don't have one. It is about the truth. Super AMOLED is inferior to TFT anytime for small text rendering. You can't read small letters on Galaxy even if they are made from enough pixels, the dithering is miserable. I checked in store and it puts a high strain on eyes, the small characters are very fuzzy. Not on similar screen size and resolution for TFT. You don't see clear contour for even horizontal and vertical lines on Super AMOLED, all looks made from zigzag small dots.
