Why do you people just copy the specs from original Galaxy S? There is no secondary camera and flash for Samsung Captivate.... !

Anonymous, 14 Jul 2010for everyones information this is exactly the same as the i... moreNo, they're not the same. Features of each US carrier variant of the Galaxy S is either added or taken away from the orginal Galaxy S. The Samsung Epic with Sprint is the only phone that has the front facing camera and a physical keyboard. In addition, that phone and Verizon's Fascinate have a flash. The Captivate has no front facing camera, no flash, you can't side load apps because AT&T won't allow it, and no TV out. GSM just copied and pasted the specs from the i9000 and changed the coverages respectively for each variant.

for everyones information this is exactly the same as the i9000 software wise. if the i9000 has something so does the captivate. same os same ui same camera front and back, same processor. the dimensions are also the exact same. and it is also the same across the board except for the epic 4g because it has a hardware keyboard.

Samsung Captivate seems to be a fairly good response to iPhone 4 release and since it's antenna free problems will be more than succesfull, http://www.itsagadget.com/2010/07/samsung-captivate-will-be-released-soon-at-att.html

It looks like the FM Radio was removed on the Captivate.

There's no FM Radio app (but there's an AT&T Radio which isnt the same).

The BOX for AT&T's Samsung Captivate has been photographed and it says

                                Dimensions: 4.18L x 2.5W x 0.39D in / 106x64x9.9 mm
                                Weight: 4.5 oz / 128g

that is about 9 grams heavier than the International version of the Galaxy S.

Roberto, 11 Jul 2010WHY the HELL did samsung include led flash only on the CDMA... moreWho knows, it could be a legitimate reason though. The chip set for the CDMA and GSM might be different in geometry some how and the CDMA version probably allowed some room for a LED light.

To re-engineer everything things around for the GSM version might not work out so well. Next time they should include the LED light from the beginning therefore it will be easier to engineer.
