From reading other Forums it would appear that Daily Briefing was removed on Gingerbread 2.3.3, but replaced after that. I am running Gingerbread 2.3.5 and Daily Briefing is definitely installed on that version. There are widgets for News/ Sheduler/ Stock/ and Weather.
I can't help with the lockscreen pattern because I have never found the need to use it.

all my blogs pics,picasa web album pics,g+ pics and allo others all automatically showing in my gallery...n wheneva m trying to delete it,,the delete option hides.... any soln on dis issue..i will be v thankfull.!!

If you are looking to buy this phone for some application published by samsung like as DAILY BRIEFING then dont go for it.
I bought this phone a week ago. Works fine.
But feels like cheated on daily briefing feature. I do not have daily briefing widget anywhere in my cell.
Also, please notice one default error.
There is a PATTERN screen security option provided at security application. If ever you apply that pattern lock, it will never let you see your LOCK SCREEN wallpaper, all you will get to see is HOME SCREEN Wallpaper in both locks.
Rest things are fine.
I have upgraded it to the Gingerbread. I am posting this comment to see if some expert can solve my errors I said here.
