I recently upgraded to this model. This is my 4th Samsung but alas I am having permanent software problems since my 3rd day I had the phone. Says "lost Directory" on SD card and and all data is gone. Been in 4 times and they replaced a PC board but still giving hassles. Do I have a bad phone or just a DUD phone???

Sorry my good man, but the i8910 HD doesn't even come close to the N8 when talking about the camera. First off there is a 4 Mega pixel difference, then there is the bigger sensor on the N8 ( the biggest of any camera phone in fact ). Not to mention the N8's Xenon flash versus the i8910's LED. Xenon wins there.
I will eat my words if you can provide a web link that demonstrates the i8910's camera is better than the N8's.

What you may be getting confused with is the i8910 will apply heavy post processing to the shots to artificially make them look better. The N8 does not post process so the shots look more natural.

Unfortunately the Nokia N8 has taken the cr... moredude i'm 100% suer that u have never seen omnia hd camera, i've used n8 and i8910 at the same time and i can say proudly that n8 camera is totally fail compare with i8910 omnia HD..
i'm missing my omnia hd just for camera..

campretty, 20 Jul 2011can anyone help me how i can make my battery last for long.... moreI just sent a long post about this. Oh well looks like my cheap nokia 2330 is being tempremental. Install screen filter. The app when pressed turns brighness on/off. First of all Turn the app on, then bring down the drop down menu screen in home screen(just swipe down from top). Change dimness in the dropdown screen through the screen filter app. Then toggle it on/off wherever u have the app. I have mine set to homescreen(settings as i said are in the drop down screen). Install netqin booster.. It has many tips about battery and is useful. Go to settings - accounts and sync - Turn off auto sync and backround data if desired. Also set phones brightness to low, and screen shut down time to lowest, or desired.

But i have downloaded google maps in the past to many phones. Likd a lg cookie, a nokia 6300, and an x6. So yeah it will deffinetely work on the SGS. The phone does come with maps anyway...not sure what one.

i charge my unit for 3hrs and 15mins - empty batt to fully charged. its battery life is not so good, it only lasts for 27hrs by only texting and short period of calls.
whats the problem of my unit? can anyone help me

I recently downloaded Handcent as well, and it has... more@ Freefaller. It's about time you could cancel the default sms because that duplicate notification was doing my head in and making Handcent or Go SMS a waste of time.
Also being able to split large SMS's is very welcome.

Unfortunately the Nokia N8 has taken the crown as the best camera on a mobile phone. So far nothing has come close to beating it.
The camera on the SGS isn't too bad actually. The only thing that lets it down is the lack of a flash and Fisher Price UI, but quality wise the resulting pictures are quite good.

I have recently bought this mobile only one thing har really really disappointed me that is it's camera:-(
before galaxy s I was using Omnia HD and there is no matchless camera like Omnia HD amazing amazing amazing camera of Omnia HD this is why it is awarded EISA award the best camera and music mobile of 2009 and 2010.
