i have a question ... the thing is if ur cell phone has a custom rom firmware which can not be updated through kies (it says this version cannot be updated)... now how can i change my firmware back to the original one ... i want to update it to gingerbread or froyo it is on eclair now ... i m new to this so please help me out ... !

Lots of problem on my galaxy s after upgrading 2.2 FROYO overheat and auto vibration, phone freezes so many times.Will anyone tell me 2.3 gingerbread has same problem.I was great fan of galaxy s earlier but now i think its better to go with Iphone4.which has its own OS.

i guys i am using i9000 i really love it
i have been used almost every set but i think i9000 is much better than every set
its bettrey power is also good

Its very fast in comparison to the froyo .no doubt in my mind.
BUT points i DISLIKE ARE
1) NO BEACH live wallpaper .(which according to me was the best)
2) I didn't like the notification icons.
3) Wallpaper wizardii the best wallpaper setter on ANDROID does not work PROPERLY as it did on FROYO.
So i went to service center this morning and got FROYO back on mine..
Sorry if any Galaxy s user disliked my comment .
I am a true Galaxy (infact samsung fan)) since the time of true eye.
Sammy rocks and will continue TOOOO!!!!!.

kevin, 01 Jun 2011can any 1 give me some suggestion between galaxy s i9000 an... moreI9003 uses SLCD display while SGS uses Super AMOLED display wen Samsung's production of SAMOLED was nt sufficient enough to meet the demand they made SLCD other features are almost same just check whether its upgradable to newer android version called ginger bread if it wont dont go for it,as from my usage gingerbread rocks while frozen yogurt(FROYO) freezes and lags somtimes.Rest is upto U.I think u better read all the opinions in I9003 and I9000.Jus ignore samsung haters/hardcore samsung fans(I think u wuld b able to identify) read wat u need and if everything comes fine with either go for it.Finally watever reviews are there its ur in hands review that makes u 2 like,love or hate the fone. But I am completely satisfied after updating to Gingerbread

There is a lot you can do to improve battery life. Do you use 3G all the time? If not, turn it off when you are not using it, it sucks the life out of your battery. Go to settings> Wireless and network> Mobile networks>Network mode, and select GSM only to turn it off. The same with wifi, turn that off if you aren't using it.
I use an app called 'My Settings' (on Android Market), to turn these on/off. (You can't turn 3G off automatically due to the Android OS, you have to do it manually).
There are a lot of Task Killers on the Market. I personally use one called 'Advanced Task Killer for Froyo' which does a good job of killing apps you are not using.
Lastly, turn off 'Background data' under Settings>Accounts and sync if you want to save a bit more. It stops your apps from sending/receiving data at any time. (You can turn it back on when you access the Market).
I get 2 - 3 days out of a battery charge now just by turning off things I'm not using.
