I have already posted details on how to flash Gingerbread onto the SGS. Details are on page 8 (at the moment). Follow the web link I posted. The link contains details of where to download the Rom you need - you will need the Rom with Bootloaders - and Odin 1.7
I did mine in about 15 minutes, it's easy !
Remember though that accept responsibility for any modifications you carry out ( I have to include that ).

hiiiiiiiii there really the phone its very good but I get prblom with my phone its lucked ? its need to get to google mail &I dont know the password for the G mail because my son do that ? i wanna know if there is any way to open my phone please???

I definitely agree... all overheating problem gone after update to gingerbread .. compare to my friend's iPhone 4 using 3g at the same time ... his phone gone overheat than my system, though I have to agree that the iPhone 4 battery last 1.5 time longer than our sgs ..

yes i have tried to update it from kies ... downloaded the latest version from samsung website ... but it gives the error that this verion cannot be updated ... it is because of a custom rom i think i have given the detaails in my last post about thte firmware version ... so please help me out ... either tell me hoto change it back or how to update this version ... !

hello guys there somebody knows how to return to froyo version 2.2..i updated my phone to gingerbread but there something wrong..the battery drain fast.this is normal?help me guys..tnx

serious issues in 2.2 and 2.3 indian firmware
Music equaliser is not giving optimum audio quality, battery drain issue resolved upto certain extent but still not giving optimum.
i realised these changes when i flashed official ZSJV5 firmware from samfirmware.com
i m not sure if its device specific.
your inputs are welcome
if samsung people are reading it please bring it to notice and release good firmware for india.

Pankaj, 31 May 2011howz d battery life of samsung i9000 galaxy??? my frnd has... moreI am using this phone for 3 months now, it has very good features & performs very well, constraints are low battery life last just one day 4-5 hrs of continuous use, sometimes the phone heats up & switches off automatically, I have to take out the battery & restrat.....this I had to do 4-5 times till now......

Battery life: Up to 3 days if I do not use it (standby).
1-2 days under basic use. 1 day under intense use. You can use task manager to stop applications in background it helps. Using GPS for running/cycling/driving does eat a lot of energy if you keep it running continuously (same for other GPS devices).

hi friends. I bought SGS 2 months back with Froyo 2.2 out of the box. I wanna upgrade it to 2.3 Gingerbread. Can u guys tell me what are the improvements in 2.3 compared to 2.2? I m from India. Waiting for your replies.
