Unofficially, you can flash your phone with 2.3.3 firmware available from samfirmware.com and use Odin.
The official release of 2.3.3 has been delayed by Google. Don't know when it will be made available again.

u r also getting gr8 mp camera with flash,
"full HD"(1080p) video recording,
tad bit better and bigger screen(superamoled+ 4.3),
TouchWiz UI v4.0,
better hardware than first SGS
(trust me on this...sgs-1s glossy back is real fingrprint magn8,within the use of 1month or so ur brand new device will start to look like second hand device n thats vry annoying),
usb on the go,
1GB ram,
1650mah battery(u can get it with sgs-I as well),
Gyroscope sensor for motion gaming.
i wouldn't say sgs i9000 is bad m using it since almost a year now,but its just that sgs-II is far better...thats it,u decide...m sure u'll take wise decision...bst f luck :-)

AnonD-570, 28 Apr 2011if u have more bucks...why dont u go for SGS-II...SGS-II is... moreok there is a huge difference,bt it's not worth it bra,why can't you wait until next year im sure by then the cpu would be dual n i will never buy a very expinsive phone cash coz its a waist,u gat the n8 n sgs maybe buy the xperia pro.next year im consederin to buy a 5 or 7 inch phone just for the internet only at home or work,i like pcs more n playin unreal tournament fifa

Hey guys I was wondering if someone could help me solve my problem with my SGS i9000, its been very laggy and quite irritating to use, its also been very slow especially when lots of apps are in use, I'm currently using android froyo 2.2. PLS HELP! I don't want my phone to go to waste.

This one hell of a phone when it's on Darky's ROM v9.5... Gosh, it really amazes with the improvement. I've been holding it all day long, don't wanna put it down... :D

Im using galaxy s, with no animated background, using 3 background windows, also brightness is turned off unless on direct sunlight, there are quick switches which can be useful, also battery depens on what are you doing... If im playing a bit, watching youtube, browsing internet , calling, sending sms, it last ~24h
