i have a problem i just got the phone two days ago and i dropped it once and now everytime i lock the screen and want to unlock it, the screen won't come back on... the phone is still on but the screen is just black can anyone help me out??

It have world best graphics SGX540, HD video capture. Apple A4 chip also manufactured by Samsung..so dont be fear.. Go to galaxy..they also provide world best mobile os ANDROID...nothing more to say..

I am thinking of buying this galaxy s....but after reading opinions, I am in doubt....I think now samsung comes with the version 2.2(froyo). but I keep hearing about the hang/stuck problem and all the technical words as to flash your phone or what, I am totally lost. I haven't used a smart phone for a while so I am basically a layman. plz help.

I've been asking it for months, ye... morehi there. 2.2.1 (JPX, JPY, JS3 & JS5) is not yet available in Asia, only in Europe. If you want to have 2.2.1 on your phone, just go to www.samfirmware.com & register for free. you can download all leaked/official samsung firmwares on that site. there are also instructions on how to flash the firmware using Odin.
2.3 is not yet released for the the Galaxy S

Just flashed my Galaxy S from Android 2.2 (JPE) to Android 2.2.1 (JS5) a few minutes ago...

I work in the mobiles retail industry and have one of these samsung galaxy I9000 phone. I love the phone, it does exactly what it says on the tin. But recently I noticed the phone lagging quite often, so I decided to download KIES upgrade the firmware. And surprise surprise every time I click on install, my windows crashes. Rang Samsung whose call centre employees were soo rude . And told me to go to a Carphone Warehouse for a firmware upgrade. I am sorry but why cant you guys fix KIES.
I was soo looking forward to the new galaxy II, but not anymore. Very good phone but very poor after sales service from samsung.
Can some one please tell me where I can download odin from for a firmware upgrade in the UK.

I have had mine for a few months now and I love it! Especially when I compare it to all my friends who have an Apple iPhone. It makes them crazy cos this has more features and is better plus it is cheaper :) Excellent phone. To the guy who said it is rubbish cos it keeps restarting, I think he has a fault in it because I never had any sort of problems with it besides that I cannot put it down :)

I've been asking it for months, yet none answered!
My galaxy S product code is JPE. I wanted to change it to JPU or JPY so that I can get 2.3.
But, I really have no idea how to do it. Or, is 2.3 available for JPE phone already? I heard JPE is Hong Kong product. Is is available in hong kong?
Help me, ok?
