this is a very ugly and bad phone i don't comment on something what i don't have but in this case i do because i have sold mine already. only good thing in this phone is screen and the drawbacks are
1 no flash
2 very bad camera quality
3 body is made of plastic
4 not enough processing speed
5 screen is not scratch proof
6 don't feels solid in hand
7 no dedicated camera key
8 very poor battery life in my case 6 hours because i am a heave user in general use 10-12 hours
this device make me so bored that i have sold it in 50 percent of its retail value and bought htc desire and now waiting for desire hd

I'm not saying don't have fun with your mobile, but at least admit that it's cheap :)

I would buy Sony and apple products everyday, over cheap dirty samsung and lg shi*

I agree! I truly feel sorry for people who buy this ugly device that even doesn't have a flash for the camera and yet they think they have something that is worth.

The iphone 4g rapes this device and looks so much classier. Apple is a premiere company while samsung will always remain wannabes and copy cats.

No wonder why many people don't respect them.

I upgraded from SE W960i to the Samsung Galaxy S just two weeks ago. This phone rocks! My former phone was quite good but comparing it to the Galaxy S is like comparing gold to dirt.

With respect to the lagging problem, I'm not really bothered by it since it only happens from time to time in my phone and it's not that bad (you should experience my old phone's lag problems!!!). Another point of concern is the battery because it only lasts me an average of 1.5 to 2 days with average use whereas I'm used to a phone that lasts at least three full days on a single charge. Anyway, despite these problems, I'm 100% satisfied with my phone.

On the other hand, one item that I am really starting to get frustrated with is the timeliness of the Froyo update here in the Philippines. I check with Samsung Kies everyday and even go to Samsung's service center from time to time (I was there just an hour ago!) and still, there is no update. This is really annoying since other countries (US, Canada, European Countries, etc.) have already tasted Froyo. I personally think that this is where Samsung should shape up. They sold millions of this particular unit (and made tons of money from it) but fall short with respect to support. Anyway, rooting the phone seems to be a very tempting thing to do but I'll just wait for the official ROM. Hopefully, they have this ready before the month ends. I can't wait to have the speed boost and the additional features! By the way, just an additional info with respect to Kies, I didn't experience any problem installing the latest version to my desktop and connection of the device via Kies worked perfectly (I am using Windows 7 32 bit).

Comparing the Galaxy S to one of its competitors, the iPhone 4, I wouldn't trade my Galaxy S if you gave me 2 iPhone 4's! Well, maybe I will but i'll use the money to buy two SGS and two memory cards since iphone is more expensive. My brother has an iPhone 4 (shame on him!!!) and after comparing my phone with his, I just could not comprehend why he bought it. Of course, a lot of the decision making process involves subjective/personal preferences but hey, if you will look at the specs and compare the two side by side, iPhone 4 is just a notch (or two!) lower. On paper, they boast about the retina display but looking at the two devices from a practical point of view, you will barely notice the difference in pixel size/resolution when you compare them side by side (as i did). With respect to the more visible aspects of the display like contrast and saturation, the Galaxy S is clearly miles away. Blacks really look black compared to the grayish look in the iPhone 4. Also, you can transfer files via bluetooth, change the battery, listen to FM radio, drag and drop files, play a lot of video without having to convert them, add memory via memory card, etc. The only aspect that I thought iPhone 4 had an advantage is the app store but hey, the android market (and android phones) are aggressively expanding. On the other hand, with respect to this iPhone 4 and SGS comparison, the one annoying thing that I found (at least here in the Philippines) is that a lot of people don't look at the specs written on paper as well as hands on comparison when purchasing or at least comparing the two phones. They are just plain fanboys who think iPhone 4 is the best ever smartphone on the universe. There is even one officemate who shoots down my claim (he probably got paid by Steve Jobs) despite having explained the comparison and the reviews from trustworthy sources like GSMArena. He claims that GSMArena just got paid and that iPhone 4 is the champion of all phones. When I told him that geeks (or people who really know how to properly judge the technical specifications of a phone) are the primary consumers of this phone, he told me that iPhone 4 fanboys are also geeks who know everything. The funny thing is that when I asked him about the technical specifications of iPhone 4 that makes it superior to the Samsung Galaxy S, he couldn't say anything (what an idiot).

                  Samsung Galaxy S rocks!!!

It because of Android which is miles ahead of any other operation system.

I also have a Samsung OmniaII with Windows Mobile on it. Compared to the SGS its VERY slow.

The screen on the Galaxy is awesome. even better than iphone 4.

Samsung 19000 Galaxy S is the best phone I ever met. I used up to Mokia N97, full of bad experience and lot of frastrations. now I got release now. with the launch of Samsung GT9000 Nokia will loose some perception on top end phones. as of now there are new top end phones to be releazed, the fact is Samsung GT9000 spec and the performances have over ride the Nokia up coming models. Samsung is with a competitive advantage over Nokia.

too bad this phone was number 2 in ranking and now it's number 6, this phone really sucks, and buggy froyo really gave a bad imagne of sgs.

I'm never going to trust samsung again, and so should you.
