It was £14.99 English from Amazon.Co.uk not euro's obviously I've got to set the battery up first and I'm going to reset battery stats which is best to do when you flash a new rom but I didnt. Still on %52 been using since midday yesterday and all evening at work all morning with everything turned on and the brightness on full.

Do I just follow these instructions exactly as you posted earlier or do you have any better instruction.
It sounds very hard but maybe not once I get started
This is what you mentioned earlier
Follow instructions but be careful and dont blame me if you make a mistake.
First you need to install odin3 v1.3 on your pc
then install jm9 here
http://forum.xda-developers.co...php ?t=802909
make sure you read instructions properly and choose the correct csc file for your country do this by Opening dialer and type: *2767*4387264636#
The second line will read: PCode:GT-I9000HK?xxx.
Make the last three characters match with the CSC product code, Let phone reboot and install this rom.
Then root your phone here
http://forum.xda-developers.co ...t=click+root
Then this read instructions please
http://forum.xda-developers.co...php ?t=723103
look for v5 slim for I9000XWJM9 and the theme under it and download them at the bottom of the first post follow instructions and install this.
Reboot phone again then finally install a lag fix of your choice. I think that it everything

Seriously installing jm9 is not hard so many people will help you on xda it would be the best thing you have ever done and like me you wont be able to put your galaxy down and probably like me not even worry about froyo.

paul, 17 Oct 2010yes if kies is offering that to you do a firmware upgrade t... moreThanks for this Paul.
Do you think I would see much change upgrading to JM4.
I am just hearing horror stories about everything with upgrading, wish it was simple like HTC or Nokia.
So should I upgrade to JM4 which will no doubt have all the usual junk that VODAFONE insist in adding like 360 updates and all stuff you dont need to slow down your phone.
Then should I run oneclicklagfix.
So when I access one click lag fix is that normal for me only to have root available and everything unavailable.
I would try what you say with JM9 but looks far to complicated for me to be honest mate but thanks for advice anyway.
Thanks again

Since my original f/w was jg4 and the original pCode was GT-I9000HKAINU. The new pCode with froyo 2.2 suggests GT-I9000HKAXEE though. And the KAINU is not even available with xda for that matter. So which csc to go with? Any idea?
Thanks.

Ryan , 17 Oct 2010Hi Paul, great information but I am not upgrading to froyo ... moreyes if kies is offering that to you do a firmware upgrade through kies i have had no problems with the times ive used it just make sure your phone has allot of battery.
With the lag fix thing yes first you need to root your phone then install the ext2 tools then choose what version of the lag fix you want. Obviously do this after you have upgraded though.
Also once you have rooted you can download titanium backup and backup all your apps and settings just in case you happen to lose any of it or have a problem with your phone.

CAN YOU HELP ME WITH SMALL ISSUE?
I am keeping 2.1 eclair for the time being and current firmware with vodafone is PDA:JG2 but on Kies it tells me I can upgrade to Latest version PDA:JM4
Do you think I should try it or is Kies as bad as everyone says.
2ND qustion is
I want to try this ONE CLICK LAG FIX by RyanZA but when I donwload it from market and access it, the only option I have is to root my phone and options(Install EXT2 tools-Oneclicklagfix V2.2+ and others are all saying UNAVAILABE)
Have you ever tried tried this lagfix and is it normal that it should state everything else is unavailable or would that status change if I root my phone.
Thanks in advance
