Hi, I got mine 2 days ago too. I had Nokia N900 before - with keyboard, I loved that phone - it was truly professional. But when I saw specs of Galaxy S I thought I will like it more. Did you already try the Swype function when typing? It is fabulous. I like the phone, although the plastic needs some case :) to be sure it is safe. Nokia had a better build quality.
I also liked Galaxy for a good(better) camera.
The only thing I was upset with, is that GPS function has to be fixed with a new firmware. It works very badly, is not precise at all. But they tell that Samsung has heard of this and is going to prepare an update.

Too bad this phone doesn't support multi language in web page like iphone. Safari is mire advance than goggle browser.

Have a problem with my Galaxy S when connecting to PC
with usb Cable when I Select Samsung Kies
the screen on the phone keeps flashing inbetween
the usb connection and main home screen
have lates Kies installed on PC
Have allso reset phone and tried on my laptop but still same prob
any help would be great thanks

Wave's browser is crap and ap... moreah i see what you mean, maybe wave has better music but as a smart phone is useless. and galaxy music is brilliant but even gsm arena say the music quality is not as perfect as iphone 4. oh well, again it's my opinion.
after reading Sundars comment i have to agree with him too, i didn't understand why people liked their iPhones so much because on paper other phones look a better package but in practise it's very different. i had never owned an iPhone before so i couldn't realise. but you probably won't be disappointed with your galaxy as i'm not, i just wish i had bought the iphone instead.

Wave's browser is crap and applications wise, they are far behind I-Tunes and even Android. Nevertheless, Wave is in a different league when you play music with earphones on. Trust me I have owned many high end phones and Wave wins hands down in this area. Oh yeah, Galaxy lags at times.Nevertheless, it is an excellent phone. Wonder whether Froyo upgrade would cure these short comings. However, I do not agree with you your contention that I-Phone music quality is better than Galaxy S. I would rate Galaxy slightly better than I-Phone. Any how, I respect your views and have no intention of stepping on your toes.
On the other hand, Desire and Legend are excellent all round phones. In my opinion, I-Phone 4, Galaxy S & Desire are the best phones in the market at present. It is my opinion only and am not bulldozing my views on any one.

Sundar , 11 Sep 2010Galaxy s is laggy not only in India but also in USA. Should... moreIphone 4 still not available here in india (officially), I want to go for it but the officiall way only. SGS is currently using android 2.1, and because of it the phone is showing only 326 mb ram. And out of that around 270 to 280 is used. I guess when Froyo comes the phone will use full 512 mb which it has. Hope so that after Froyo this lag issue solves. I guess in india till now only SGS is the best option.
Will look out for iphone 4 when it will launch officially.

hi,, i just bought this great device..have some few questions..
1) how to close the internet browser..is it only always via the task manager..
2) my battery is very bad..when i am online in fring or galk.. is it because the data is being continously sent which makes the battery poor..what can be done for this???
