Are you kidding? "..the screen is supercalifragilistic compared to the competition.." yeah, right! Buy yourself a TV set, buddy! The design is just a sad copy of an I Phone with misplaced buttons. But that's Samsung... good old Samsung that go for a copy instead of innovating.

Hi all.
I'm thinking of getting me the Samsung I9000s Galaxy, but since reading the last couple of negitive comments. I'm not sure..
Just a few Questions:
1.: Is there a app/program where you can draw a sketch/note
2.: I understand that a stylus doesn't work on this touch screen, so no text recognition...?
3.: How do the rest feel about the calender and email setup/sync and use...?

Why most of the people prefer the Samsung Galaxy S for an iPhone 4? Well the Samsung Galaxy S has better performance and advanced features but the iPhone 4 is a brand. The Samsung Galaxy S is able to share internet connection, take pictures with up to 5 megapixels and shoots in high resolution, witch makes it a direct competitor to the iPhone 4. Samsung Galaxy S has been launched after the launch of the iPhone 4, Super bright screen smartphone with AMOLED 4 inches, Android operating system version 2.1, digital TV, 1 GHz processor and Wi-Fi hotspot (appeal to share the 3G connection with other devices), so the Samsung Galaxy S has a lot to give than the iPhone 4. The operating system Bada, installed on another smartphone from Samsung called Wave, gives rise to the Google Android, also the Samsung Galaxy S operating system is better than the updated iPhone 4. Adopted as main platform for smartphones from Samsung, the choice of Android maximizes the possibilities for using the Samsung Galaxy S. The virtual store Android Market with more than 96 000 applications, makes the Samsung Galaxy S a grate phone because more than half of them free. The Apple Store has also grate apps for the iPhone 4 but almost all have a price. Galaxy S is the most advanced smartphone Galaxy line, which includes other devices, including the tablet Galaxy Tab, rival the IPAD, and this makes the Samsung Galaxy S a competitor for the iPhone 4. The Samsung Galaxy S smartphone resembles in many features to the iPhone in April and will hit stores this month with a better price than iPhone 4. Besides the functions mentioned above, the device is equipped with GPS, 5 megapixel camera, record videos in high resolution and works with the DLNA standard. It lets you share files with other compatible equipment technology, as some TV models recently launched by the company and digital cameras, such as Samsung ST1000, and leaves the iPhone 4 beside. The outside of the Samsung Galaxy S has only three physical buttons. The first button turns on the Samsung Galaxy S and also blocks the screen, the second is on the side and controls the volume. The third button on the front and its functions to return to the home screen and quit applications are similar to the functions of the iPhone 4. Other two touch sensitive buttons of the Samsung Galaxy S are used to back while browsing and open open the Tools menu of the application. The Samsung Galaxy S 4-inch capacitive screen has a resolution of 480×800 pixels and uses Super AMOLED technology, which provides high brightness and colors almost same as iPhone 4. The operating system is multitasking (runs multiple applications simultaneously) and the interface used is the TouchWiz 3.0. The user can position the icons of applications anywhere in the seven areas of work with the Samsung Galaxy S. Among the icons are the programs that show the latest news and calendar events virtual Google. Samsung Galaxy S is equipped with 1 GHz processor, USB 3.0, GPS, and compatible with all telephony operators, a new plus against the iPhone 4. This duration may be greater in everyday situations, when the appliance is not always required the most, witch makes the Samsung Galaxy S a better phone than the iPhone 4. Digital TV tuner channels open and has a retractable external antenna that can enhance the signal reception. It is worth noting that in some locations the weak signal can cause crashes at the reception. The user can record programs, view the program schedule, capture screens as images, activate subtitles and original audio and transmit audio to a Bluetooth headset with the Samsung Galaxy S.
The Samsung Galaxy S use the Social Hub witch brings together leading social networks on one screen and allows update them quickly. The Layar, browser, augmented reality, show sites close to the user, such as restaurants, places registered in Foursquare, bus routes and hotels. The Samsung Galaxy S application requires a 3G connection to download data from establishments. The Samsung Galaxy S 5 megapixel camera records images with sharpness, but the smartphone does not have flash, a failure that should be mentioned, but so does the iPhone 4. Despite the short-range, often a little flash can make a difference during filming and nighttime shots. Through GPS, the device records the location where the photos were taken, which may be useful to publish the images on sites like Flickr. The clips recorded by Samsung Galaxy S are in high definition (720p). There is no protection for lens or dedicated button for the camera with the Samsung Galaxy S. Galaxy S requires the user to navigate through menus to reach the camera application to activate the feature. This disrupts the user in situations where you want to take a picture quickly with your Samsung Galaxy S. There is no need to use any specific program to transfer music files to the device. When you plug your smartphone to a USB cable, the computer recognizes the Galaxy’s like a storage unit and the user can navigate through the system folders. The music player supports MP3, AAC, OGG, WMA, WAV, AMR, FLAC, among others. The Samsung Galaxy S audio output pattern is commonly used 3.5 mm, the same used in headphones. The smartphone comes standard with some programs, including YouTube, Gmail, RSS reader and Google Talk. To download other applications, the user must enter the Android Market with a name and password for a Google account, which can be a Gmail address or e-mail address used to enter the Orkut.
The application of the virtual store is already installed on Samsung Galaxy S. The smartphone is compatible with applications from Android Marked virtual store, which has more than 96 000 applications, of which more than 60% free. The web browsing is fast as well as the entire operating system. The response to touch on the links is takes little time and pages to increase away from the fingers on the screen that is multitouch.
Samsung Galaxy S works as a wireless router and can share the 3G connection through Wi-Fi can also use the function Wireless Tethering to use the device as a 3G modem connected to laptop via Wi-Fi, something more than the iPhone 4.

Vic, 07 Sep 2010I have been owning this phone since since 4th of September ... more1.I do accept that it had bugs but the version from original site hasnt shown any problms for me.......I installed it 2 times already 1 time for making tweaks so as to update to froyo(which i just tested)
2.Only once u need to use net for calendar and u dont need to sync with google all the time
3.Google gives priority to its services but doesnt mean u cant link other
4.Adobe reader from market works fine in mine.
5.The headphones do fit quite right mayb ur ears mayb 2 little my cousin brother also tried it
6.I registered and they had called me asking for opinions(within 2 weeks)
The other things I havent trie so cant really tell u about it..........Unless I try.

i agree with ur comments on galaxy s...kies software is really pathetic....very frustrating....
well, if u r not able to configure yahoo email on galaxy s...just try this and hopefully it will do...
1st of all login in to ur yahoo email id and select "more options" by clicking on "options" present on upper right side on webpage .
2nd select option "Allow your Yahoo! Mail to be POPed " from "POP & forwarding" ,save the settings and then follow the following steps in ur galaxy s.
Go to manual setup > IMAP account and change to these settings....
user id - (username@domainname.com)
password - (ur password to email id)
Imap server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
SMTP Server- smtp.mail.yahoo.com
security type - i selected SSl and it worked...
keep ur fingers crossed .....

Yeah, it defenetly reads pdf files...but kies is tottaly messed up and a pointless program.

Could someone who has used the Galaxy S as well a... moreGalaxy S has a lot of problems while Desire has ni problems at all. Galaxy S does not feel comfortable to hold in the hand while Desire feels very comfortable even with only onehand-use. If you do not which to buy, then you will definetly not be disapointed with Desire, but Galaxy S could be a real expensive disapointment.
Desire has more happy customers, and HTC offers a lot better support and faster updates of Android to newer versions.
Buy Desire! I regret buying Galaxy S, and I bought Desire after having used Galaxy S and been frustrated over its bad performance, like useles gps and mono FM-radio and frekvent "lagging".

The features of the M110S Galaxy S are very much similar to the I9000 Galaxy S.Are there any differences? I dont know which one is better to buy?

I have been owning this phone since since 4th of September 2010. The experience is not good. Please let me highlight a number of items that made me to decide that this phone is not good enough to be used by me for personal and business use.
1. The Samsung Kies application that provided with the phone is full of bugs or underdeveloped. When installed on the HP desktop PC it sieged the CPU so no resource power was left for basic Windows applications (~95% or CPU was taken out). The application load time (already installed) is excessively long, 2-4 minutes. When it wa finaly loaded I tried to explore the menu shown on the screen and as soon as I went to see what content on phone's memory and/or microsd card I inserted, the whole application has crashed and closed off. It is a repeatable behaviour. I tried on two different fully licensed and updated PCs with Windows XP.
2. I made a search on google and found that people have been complaining about numerous bugs in Kies. I then uninstall the Kies and downloaded latest version from Samsung. I found almost no differences in behaviour to the previous version release.
3. The phone itself has an issues or limitations that make me impossible to use in day-to-day activities.
· Calendar proclaimed to be of easy setup and use(as per manual), but it tied up with requirement to have google account, so you cant use it till the account is activated. The google account requirement is only shown in the phone not in the manual. The sync with google will be required every time I change the record in calendar. For privacy reasons I can not have external google to dictate how I have to set my phone. This is very bad design and approach Samsung took.
· I setup email account that linked to my POP account. When it was created the phone pulled all email headers from the inbox automatically. I did not find config that allows to manage how to phone interacts with the email account. I tried to delete the account that I created in the phone, I couldn't find account delete command in the phone, you only can change its config or ad a new one.
· The yahoo account couldn't be linked to the phone. All valid account email and password has been inserted.
. The MS Office type application can be activate only if google account is created
. The PDF reader is not installed
. the headphones buds dont sit in the 'standard' ears, poping out by its own weight. when pushed to deep inside the only bass could be listened to. bad
. Samsung support is pathetic, no support even when you register the product.

today i was updating my galaxy s to froyo through samsung kies.but it got stucked..i disconnected the phone.then tried with odin but its also not working..dont know what to do
