Cvelcuga, 13 Oct 2012I have this phone for 15 months. Overall it is quite a good... moreyeah its a cool phone. some folks use "quick pic" and find that helps. it certianly has benefits of quick pic info and details.

I have this phone for 15 months. Overall it is quite a good product. What bothers me is poor baterry life, lack of camera flash and I am really annoyed with lagging (I use Gingerbread). I have a lot of files (around 3.7GB out of 5.5GB on phone and around 9GB out of 14.5GB on 16GB microSD) and loading photos can take a while and is slow responsive.
What I want to do is upgrade to Jelly Bean but I never actually rooted the phone. The reason for that is waiting for the stable version of Jelly Bean which I hope can solve the problems I experianced and give better battery life and smoothness they promote with JB. This phone is still very pricy and incredibly popular so the updates are first tested on Glaxy line. I considered changing it but I don't find S3 so revolutionary and I'm waiting for something radical in phone industry instead od just bringing more powerful chipsets and bigger screens.

a4tech, 09 Oct 2012does anyone know where to buy a battery with a higher mAh h... morethere is an excellent battery that is 1800mAh (recommended also by xda developers). I bought it from Amazon and it comes with a 1 years guarantee also. It's made by ANKER. It takes 3 and a half hrs to charge and lasts ages.

does anyone know where to buy a battery with a higher mAh here in the philippines? the phone is almost perfect except that battery does'nt last a day even if i tried to close apps, dimmed my screen brightness.

I've been a happy user/owner of a Galasy S i9000 since March 2011.
Even more so after I flashed CyanogenMod 10 on it, late Sempember 2012.
What's most incredible is that Samsung said that this phone could not run 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich nor 4.1 Jelly Bean, and that they would no longer develop nor release new Android OS' for it for this phone is too underpowered, memory and processor wise.
Google Nexus S has the exact same specs and it runs Jelly Bean 4.1 *OFFICIALLY* just fine.
So, clearly, all Samsung wants is your hard earned cash.
Well, if they would get their heads off their butts they would see that they are squarely wrong.
CM10 on Galaxy S i9000 is eons better than Samsung's own crappy Gingerbread 2.3.6 ROMs.
If you own one of these phones look no further. Head over to XDA developers forums and look up CM10 and flash it.
You will thank me later!
