I've been a happy user/owner of a Galasy S i9000 since March 2011.
Even more so after I flashed CyanogenMod 10 on it, late Sempember 2012.
What's most incredible is that Samsung said that this phone could not run 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich nor 4.1 Jelly Bean, and that they would no longer develop nor release new Android OS' for it for this phone is too underpowered, memory and processor wise.
Google Nexus S has the exact same specs and it runs Jelly Bean 4.1 *OFFICIALLY* just fine.
So, clearly, all Samsung wants is your hard earned cash.
Well, if they would get their heads off their butts they would see that they are squarely wrong.
CM10 on Galaxy S i9000 is eons better than Samsung's own crappy Gingerbread 2.3.6 ROMs.
If you own one of these phones look no further. Head over to XDA developers forums and look up CM10 and flash it.
You will thank me later!

mano, 27 Sep 2012can any 1 say plzz about upgarding icsYou can do it very easily using CM9, but you'll get similar performance and more features by flashing CM10 and Slimbean.
You need to get root, then install CWM recovery. Then back your stuff up, then put the CM10 zips on your SD, then boot to recovery. Wipe then install the zips. Viola, newness

dear frnds,my mobile's battery indicator shows 60%battery remains.but suddenly mobile shows low battery and shutdown.sometimes fullcharge battery remains 1 n half day normal use.but sometimes it remain 12hours normal use at home in full network support.what is the problem? i brought it 3months ago.plz plz help me out. thanks in advance.

query, 17 Sep 2012which is better among this----GOOGLE NEXUS S, GALAXY S(I900... moreno idea about nexus or lg. Avoid Nokia and symbian deffinitely(i am using nokia x6 to post now, but do avoid symbian...windows is up to u). Had sg i9000 for a year now....very good. Runs all games i've tried at play store.....plus u can play them on tv, via tv out lead..... using phone as a makeshift controller. Check you tube for my upload sometime tomorrow or friday "sgs i9000 nova3 mc3 real racing 2". Lots of new phones (esp sony's) aren't running these games well or at all. Anyway, from using nokia, sony and samsung.....well samsung has far better file manager support....it's very easy to move files from phone to sd plus vice versa. Not the case with sony arc, xperia mini pro....and i expect most sony's. Its good for me to try to move family media to other sd cards....organise, make space etc. Probably also why sony are cheaper with poor file managment. Tv out works great on all racing games, (like asphalt 7 etc). U need to check specs,reviews, youtube vids and decide what suits you. Xperia arc s is perfect for my girlfriend, sgsi9000 is awesome for me.
