dear galaxy user friends,
i picked up this phone 10 days back. it is great, but since past few days i have experienced a quiet irritating issue. whenever i touch on phone or message icon on main widget screen, it takes a good 5 to 8 seconds to load the screen. sometimes u would want to make a quick call and having to wait that long for screen to appear is disapointing and irritating. is there a bug or i need to make some setting changes. please help. thanks in advance

Why must we install kies on the PC to be able to connect the phone to a PC, if I want to connect to a friends PC then he must also install kies...

I have SGS I love it except for GPS(which shows I am 3 km away frm original location).I tried changing the settings but it didnt work. Any other solutions?? Also as I saw some1 stating about taskiller. It works ok nt dat neatly because some functions tend to come again. I am expecting a huge change in this services being cut in FROYO.
Somebody please help me abt clearin GPS problem.

2nd in kies to the right there is an icon with mobile&up arrow click on it to download the firmware.It tells u the instructions do as it says

On my SGS only has Settings -> Wireless and network -> Mobile network settings -> Use only 2G networks. I talked to phone company they said I did uncheck this option, it means my phone is using 3G and 2G as well, but still nothing happen.

on my firmware a task manager is included but in earlier firmwares i used autokiller which is technically not a killer it just changes parameters in android memory management
the other taskkillers are as you say crap

After one month use of the Galaxy S. I have this to say:
Battery issue:
Battery drains off fast because of auto download of background data which uses internet for which you have to pay for it unless your internet package is unlimited. Some of you suggest the use of task killer which however renders the Galaxy S unstable (hangs or lags often) and at times cut off the phone line while the task killer is doing the job. The best way is uninstall the task killer and turn off the auto download of background data and turn it on only when necessary. For those who do not know how to turn it off, this is the way:
Go to settings> account and sync > check off the background and data checkbox and also disable auto sync.
Next go to settings > wireless and network > mobile networks and check off Data roaming.

The information about power consumption is just a rough indication about the sources though.
You can watch videos for some 6 hours and I manage to navigate on the battery for 3,5 hours in my car!!
Al with the standard settings out of the box.
I think that's a very good achievement with such a big and bright screen!
And again:
Don't forget the battery first gets its full capacity after 5 ~ 6 full charges.

So what's you're point?

Check their site u can download their software for almost 2500rs. he did a lifetime premium account for same amount for his car.

what's made this great is that it's running on android.. i can play around creating some apps on it.. it's 1GHz processor, and ample storage i dont even need an xternal card.. only bad thing is that it doesn't have a flash..
