I was going through the android market and i gt some info to download real player which ll support avi file.. Bt it didnt work....

Just had mine for a week. The screen is absolutely awesome in size and resolution. It even "adjusts" some old formats to "widescreen" mode. Obviously, battery is less awesome, having to recharge at least once a day. Caution with leather cases : some are presented for the Galaxy S but are actually a bit smaller (for the iPhone). Make sure you got the exact measurements.

Was prepared to expect worst with speaker comments but it has good tonal quality for listening to podcasts and is loud enuf for me.

TomTom? You have free voice guided nav in google maps (with street view) and BTW there are free or cheap ($4) alternatives.

I think you can't search or you're seeing bad because there realy are quite a lot of apps for Android.
This is a difference with Apple:
It's not only the market where you can get apps for an Android phone.
Just use Google to find them ;-)
And you know what's best?
Latest survey came up that 60% of those useful apps are FREE unlike the apps in the Apple store where only 20% is free!
Talking about the apps in the Apple store:
What's the point in having some 15 ~20 developers making apps who all do the same?
As Apple regulates the approval of the apps, they should kick out all those apps who do the same thing.
That would make the store a lot more clearer!
(and they wouldn't have >100.000 apps :-))

If you buy an Android device, you won't need TomTom because it has Google Navigation with turn by turn voice guidance pre-installed! (again unlike Apple)
But if you would like a different navigation app, (remember it's Android) you're free to choose several other navigation brands.
(Even free ones unlike for the iPhone)

The Galaxy S is just as 'big as the 3GS' and far more sleek than the iPone4.
If you like to walk around whole day with a brick in your pocket, feel free to do so.

This is where you can see for yourself that Apple has surpassed by Samsung with the Galaxy S.

Yes the OS needs a bit work too ;-)
Just wait 'till september as Froyo (Android 2.2) gets released for the Samsung Galaxy S.
Browser already blows the iPhone browser out of the water. (look for the video on YouTube)
It can only get better within a few months!
Android does more within one year were as Apple needed three years to get a well working os.
And with Android 2.2 you get FLASH 10.1 :-))

THERE IS NO FLASH FOR THE CAMERA on the Galaxy S.
But to shoot very nice pictures in sunset just adjust it in the camera settings!
BTW ever seen well lightend pics takin' with a phone?
At best you get a part of the picture which is visible but the rest is very dark/unvisible ;-)

Hi everyone i have sorted out the samsung kies problem with connection to the galaxy. When it trys to install and says mtp driver and the windows box comes up to add from a cd or media source.
Go to browse and then go to the folder you saved the samsung kies programme too then go to usb drivers and symbian usb download drivers click on this and say ok. The drivers will load and the galaxy s is now connected.

U don't need to keep the phone stuck to your ear everytime , I don't do that.
I think you should recheck your phone it must work !

John, 05 Aug 2010Was keen on one but...... 1) The app store is embaressing!... moreI got mine yesterday, its AWESOME. the appstore is fine tons of usefull free apps, the plastic on the back is a bit bothersome but I am getting a case for it anyways so that wont be a problem anylonger, love the N wireless though and of course the swype text input is sweet. The app manager is a little wierd, but there is an app for that too... and the battery life is great.

[deleted post]Maybe so in a few ways but the color comes off from the unlock button. The user interface is much more pleasing on adroid especially since samsung has used vibrant colors and been creative in designing the menus so well. Lets see if Nokia has a better battery life though.
