amazing stuff frm samsung... is the gps is good i read in some post gps is not that good.... but the graphics is amazing in this phone
i really like to buy this one in 2 days now my omnia is dead with low ram and rom bu this one is just amazed with 2gb rom....

will now sway my decision on what phone to get looking like the i9000 S is the right choice and very true about the camera who uses 5mp anyway most networks send pics at 600 x 400 a 300kb file... a standard shot for 5mp is about 1mb ish if you want a camera buy a camera if you want a phone buy a phone

My handle isn't a reference to the iPhone manufacturer.
Anyway, speaking of the iPhone, I was torn between getting either the Galaxy S or the iPhone 4, but the Galaxy won out in the end. For one thing, you've got a lot more freedom in terms of customization, playable video formats, etc. Although the 4's got a great App Store, I have full confidence that the Android Market will catch up sooner or later. And even if it doesn't, it's got a heck lot more free apps than Apple.
In an eggshell (barring all my other opinions), the Galaxy S is a great phone for those of you looking for a more affordable high-end smartphone. If you've got a few dollars left over to shell out on an iPhone, then it's up to you whether you favor it or not. But in my own, humble opinion, the only areas wherein the iPhone outclasses the Galaxy S is in terms of a richer app store, a (much) higher resolution, and a flash for the camera.

i've tested my phone at 2 different places.
I've seen no problem with wifi signal range.
At my friend's place, i was sat in his garden, his router was like 20meters away within his house
and i was browsing android market and downloading
applications very smoothly.
This phone is really good, battery is just great,
after whole afternoon spent on it with wifi ON,
battery is still at 75% currently.
I thought according to various pictures that the phone would be a bit too big. Actually it's barely bigger than iphone / Omnia and still can fit in your pocket. S-Amoled screen is really great too, you can use it without any problem outdoor under the sun, it stays visible and usable.
The only down side is the 5MP camera. Really, people
argueing with "what do you want a 8MP+ on a phone for" should crawl under a rock seriously. We have always seen that this behavior is totally wrong, else we would still have 0.3MP camera with polyphonic tones on our phones. And having owned several 5MP phones, the galaxy one is just decent but not enoughy for me and quality of 5MP phone is nowhere as good as a good 8MP one (i have still a Samsung S8300 Tocco Ultra which really does great shots).
I bought it because i needed a good replacement phone and it's among the best we can buy currently while waiting for next generation with 8MP+ and 2ghz/dual core stuff / 1080P recording.. I can't wait for 2011.
Meanwhile, enjoy this one!

The good:
1. Nice display
2. LIght, Shiny, and looks good
3. Good camera
The bad:
1. Battery drains fast
2. Easy of use - difficult when compared to iphone
3. Screen is too sensitive and takes time to get used to
4. Needs to be handled delicately
5. Poor sound quality
Verdict: I like my Iphone better any day

Wake up!
Take a look at the benchmarks (browser speed + GPU), SuperAmoled screen, battery life, weight just to name some better points.
Who cares about the 8 megapix cam?
If you want a good camera, use a dslr camera not a phone ;-)
Even the old Nokia N86 has a better camera than the Motorola ;-)
About the plastic back cover:
Ever read or seen a video about a broken one?
It's designed just perfect!
Light weight, perfect to hold in your hand with a very neat fit to the phone, cheap to replace if you get scratches on it after heavy use without a case and no blocking for the antenna signal :-)

is it possible to change the theme like HTC Desire has?
