Hope this phone does not have poor sound quality like the Omnia HD at 16KHz AMR audio completely ruined the phone, instead of having 48KHz AAC audio codec, would be better.

Does anybody know..Please..?

God how I wish that all comments related to the word "Camera" or "Flash" are deleted, this debate or database of peoples opinion has turned merely into a complaining and whining about the phones features and future, nothing really productive, no future information, just a lot of posts that have as much valuable content as a gossip conversation of little kids....

To those people complaining about no flash on this baby then get off your father's computer and go to bed already, it's past your curfew.
It's been stated over 200 times already, yes it has NO flash cope with it or just go troll on some other cell phone, I hear iPhone opinion forums are great.

What the hell is LED flash going to do anyways I've had many phones and each and every one of their led flashes were trash compared to the Xenon flash.
BUT the Xenon flash adds ALOT of bulk to the phone and since they wanted to keep this form factor "slim" why mess with it by adding a xenon flash...heck why add a flash at all its only useful as a flashlight. And with a super AMOLED screen capable of displaying amazing colors and brightness why not just download a flashlight app which utilizes the screen instead?
All in all the led flash is not a big problem, work around it.

You want to take night photography? Buy your own stand alone camera for $150 and blow the 5mp quality of this phone away.

Has samsung improved the build quality of these newer smartphones?

My reasons currently for avoiding this are just the no free gps, web browser has no flash, no camera flash. Main reason is that it has no stereo speakers. well those three reasons are impportant to me.

Samsung may in due time integrate flash support for web browser, this is no biggie but it should be included straight out the box as standard. Camera has no LED or xenon so you can't take a shot in relativley low light.

I'm sure it's an excellent piece of hardware & samsung are going to need lots of apps to start the phone. I'm still keeping hope for a HTC HD3 or the Evo 4G coming to Uk as it has WCDMA, UDMA, WIMAX, it can run 3.5G aswell as 4G. Nokia N8 or Samsung I8520 is my fav still as it includes all the hard tech I'm wanting in my next phone.

amigos, over at gsmarena they have a video of the touchscreen of the Galaxy Vs HTC. One of them makes the other look like a total noob. It's actually quite impressive how the one can be so much better than the other. Go to their blog now: blog (dot) gsmarena (dot) com

gtr32, 25 May 2010given everything this phone can do the only real advantage ... moreIf you're only going to look at pictures on your mobile phone, then you don't need more than the resolution of your phone. Which means that you only need pictures to have a resolution of 480x800. That would mean that 0.4 megapixel is enough.
So when looking at the pictures made on your Galaxy S, the 5 megapixel camera is about 12 times good enough for the camera screen. Long story short, it's obvious that the camera quality will not be the main bottleneck for the picturequality when watching pictures on the Galaxy S.

given everything this phone can do the only real advantage the screen brightness is lost to the poor samsung camera quality so whats the point of having a good screen im going to look at my cam pics more than dvd movies right. So now i wait for the next nokia with mameo OS the next n900 that is a complete phone. btw soon as nokia wants it can blow iphone out of the water because of the power of mameo. its linux same as iphone
