I bought my Galaxy S Plus in Dec of last year through T-Mobile NL. Within a month I did experience a software problem that put it into a "boot loop". Samsung fixed it no problem. I still wasn't happy with the performance; it was very laggy. After a lot of research, I decided to abandon my warranty and root my phone and install a custom ROM. All very intimidating. I found a great custom ROM developed by Broodplank from Nijmegen in The Netherlands. It is called BroodROM RC5. On Broodpland's blog, www.broodplank.net. There are 2 versions, BroodROM and BroodROM Buisness Edition that is tuned for prolonged battery life for the business environment. The instruction are comprehensive and very easy for either an expert or a noob and all in picture perfect English. If you follow the instructions to the letter you will have a phone that has none of bloatware your carrier so kindly installed in the root of your device. These ROMS perform way beyond your original stock ROM in every aspect. If you follow the Backup procedures, you will loose none of original data from the stock ROM. I recommend these ROMs for any S Plus user as they are very stable, very powerful, very fast. You essentially get a new trouble free phone for about an hour of work and what's more;its free!! Remember "Rooting" your phone does void your warranty so do all essential backups before performing any modifications to your device. It is very difficult to "brick up" your phone. I hope that this helps because it has turned my phone from being a family saloon into a very nibble sports car. Have fun.

my galaxy s+ is 4 months old...i am having auto restarting problems after 10 days of purchasing this phone and till now..in samsung service center they changed motherboard twice and changed OS infinite times..but still the problem exists...still no replacement...really frustrated on samsung

bought phone in india.by the way i successfully installed xxkqg over xxkqd.via odin 4.3.3.did a wipe data/reset while in recovery mode.phone is now faster
probably because of the reset.google play did not work
initially but after going to settings in google play
and then exiting after doing nothing the problem was solved and google play started downloads.

GUYS, which is the LATEST OFFICIAL samsung galaxy s plus firmware version ? My phone having 2.3.4.. when I click on "check for update", No update founds it says, pls help how can I officially update to the up to date version

Make sure you've cleared the cache and data of both the Google Play Store app and the Download manager. Here's how:
Visit Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications
Tab over to "All"
Select the Google Play Store app, and then tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache;" then, select Download manager and tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache"
the next step u do is just turn off the phone,restart it. then everything went to normal i could update,download again without any problem.
