Anonymous, 24 Feb 2012what is the latest version of firmware available for this phone?Officially its 2.3.4,, but you can upgrade upto 2.3.6 but i dnt know its legal or not.

I am getting galaxy S plus { 9001} for Rs. 20500 & Galaxy R is also available at this price. Which is better choice. I heard Galaxy S plus has lot of battery issue and restart problem. Please advise urgently as Galaxy R is running out of stock

Its a great phone its cpu ain't that bad compare to the galaxy R cpu its a bit slower but not slow, even the adreno 205 gpu does it's job well, games run really smooth whit no lags, the web browsing experience is awesome it's capable of running all the flash animations just like a PC web browser (tried playing flash games worked very well) maybe cause flash is gpu accelerated.
it has an excellent super amoled which the galaxy R doesn't have.
only thing that discourages me that the s plus will not get the ics update ;( due to lack of RAM as stated by samsung (which is obviously bullshit)

Guys...I heard about Samsung Galaxy Advance being announced in Jan 2012 and expected to launch by Feb2012. Is this true? Having look at Galaxy Advance specifications...it is better than S Plus...with LED flash, 1.3 MP front camera... Question is..Should I wait for Advance OR go with S Plus? Help is appreciated. Thanks

Im n... moreWell for me i would prefer the arc but, that would only be if the hdmi cable allowed me to play hd games in hd on the tv, and that the adreno 250gpu worked as well as my sgs powerVR. I really think sony have made a mess of the android UI, compared to sgs.. But apart from not being as well presented as the sgs is, & how easy the sgs is to use & understand, then the arc is still android of course. Also the hd port with hdmi lead that comes with the arc, and 8 mgp camera would maybe tempt me .

However, i dont have sgs plus, i have sgs i9000 the original. I cant answer on battery life as i got mine on offer & use it for web, games......till my old phn contract ends. The super amoled screen is far better than lcd screens for battery saving. Both are sharp for viewing. 1650mAh also would mean its back up is more than the arcs battery. I get 2-3 days with quite medium web use/streaming on my sgs
