Also i have lots of queries regarding customization. i know rooting will void warranty... but without rooting/tampering the phone, r there any possibilities to change theme. Can apps such as Launcher Pro can be used without rooting.. or is there any way around in doing this..... Thanks.

it only allows 10 alarm settings.
thats not alot....
does anybody noe of any free alarm clock app tat is able to set unlimited alarms w/o using gps or internet connection???

I am in singapore , i bought this mobile on two days before. the Phone is really rock, the only thing is my batter gets dry within 2 hrs (for continious use) and get more heat when charging and using mobile evn my hands heats irretate, so how do i solve the problem , anything i have to look to change or samsung give a alternative unit fot this kind of problems. please reply

Does this phone has 3G video Calls support???....I heard android phones does not support 3G video calls and support video calls over fring appliction only.

Hey friends as they say in Android we can change the complete ui of the phone. I guess using launchers. So do we have to root our phone to use that feature or without rooting also we can change the complete ui of the phone?

1) Samsung Vibrant
2) Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

NO use in rooting an i9003, because there are no custom ROMS available for this phone yet.

i just got in touch with Flipkart and letsbuy pp... moreI am an engineer who works for Samsung. The i9000 that are being listed are in fact Refurbished items.
I know this because our company decided to refurbish these phones 2 months back, and I was in charge of seeing through the process.
The i9000's were delivered clean to the various outlets, and then it seems Android 2.2 was installed by the outlets themselves. Samsung did NOT install 2.2 on these phones.
i9003 however is a brand new phone. Although some of the hardware is the same as the original SGS, they were manufactured fresh this year.

also is i9000 coming with 2.2 froyo from samsung`s side or letsbuy ppl are refurbishing it ?
and is it upgradable to 2.3 ?

[deleted post]So i was just surfing last night , and doing time pass on net :-p
i tried letsbuy . com went their and selected galaxy S 19000
added it to cart and selected icicilb for discount all got one funny part is i selected CASH ON DELIVERY option and still the order got place , next morning that is todat ppl from letsbuy call me and said sir u placed a order fro i9000 galaxy S shall we confirm it i said but i dont even have a ICICI bank account he said no problem sir u have anyways selected cash on delivery u can give cash to the courier and take your product , i was like really >? he said yes sir , ehehe so all those who are buying Galaxy SLCD can use this icici thng and select cash on delivery adn get it for just Rs 17,990 .
P.S : i also called samsung CC and they said they have tottaly stopped manufacturing Samsung Galaxy S on the other hand letsbuy guy told me they buy phones directly from samsung and they will give the latest what they are given ,
i cancelled the order and now i am waiting for SAMASUNG GALAXY S2 :-P

hey i am getting only gsm and wcdma option in my mobile(galaxy sl) and not hsdpa and hsupa ..... does it is true that it only support wcdma and hsdpa...... also when i checked it on vodafone 3g ready device it shows it support only wcdma ie its speed is very less is it true.......... does some one using 3g on it what is speed of network ur r getting on ur mobile...........

Hay can u guys just stop cribbing about letsbuy and tell me if I should buy a 16Gb or 32 Gb memory card for my Galaxy SL.
I have heard there are some classes of that card, like class4,6 etc.
Which one should I buy?
Can someone give proper explanation?

1. As i mentioned before, chip supports TV out and USB OTG, you can check the chip internals from any website. Both the features needs to be enabled via firmware.
2. Flipkart and eBay are good, letsbuy some of my friends have purchased few items, but not sure how reliable and safe. heard complaints also.
3. i9003 graphics is too good on par with iphone, this is more than enough for anyone. only difference is SuperAmoled Vs SLCD display.
SLCD - super bright renders natural color.
SAMOLED - Bright , but artificial color but need to agree that when watching movies it will be good.
Again you will see a difference when u have both the handsets side by side otherwise same.
Then why you need to spend extra Rs.6000 - 7000 for i9000 which nobody knows whether they are still in production or refurbished.
