Recently I am receieving multiple copies of the same sms. Its like that I recieve 15-20 copies of the same message in a time frame of 1-5 hours.
Is this the problem with Android, I have 2.3.6 latest firmware on my galaxy sl.?
Can I downgrade my firmware to 2.3.5 ?If yes , How ?
Guys your inputs will be well appreciated, I am fed up with this problem, I have already contacted the service provider Airtel but to no avail.

Hey there, I'm about to buy a new mobile and after searching I reached the I9003 Galaxy SL, actually I wanted the Galaxy I9001 S, but unfortunately it's not produced anymore. I saw the I9001 S Plus but it's a bit higher than what I can afford, but I wanted to know whether the difference between the I9001 S Plus and the I9003 is worth the price difference, because in case it is I can try to get the S PLUS.

Ale, 29 Feb 2012TO all those ppl who have froyo 2.2.1 on i9003 and dieing t... moreI faced the same problem as you. Upgraded to 2.3.5 GB and face a hell lot of problems. Etc: Wifi disconnected frequently, camera function failed, after Sleep Mode 3G won't connect automatically, apps crashed unexpectedly which all the above works perfectly in Froyo 2.2.1. Complain to Samsung, they replace the board to me but still using Gingerbread, some of the issue had been solved but Wifi/3G issue still persist. Bring back to downgrade to 2.2.1 Froyo, everything is back to normal but, 2 days after when I want to use the camera, blank screen, as if the camera lens are not there. Bring back to them, they replace me the camera lenses incl. front & back, and then flash to Froyo 2.2.1 another time. Now the phone is back with me with no issue so far, hopefully end the nightmare of upgrading to Gingerbread. I had learnt the lesson of "Curiosity killed the cat".

I updated my Galaxy SL to 2.3.6 about a month ago & its working perfect, no problems at all.
The interface looks better than froyo & is faster & Smoother.
Battery backup has improved a bit & I don't need a task killer with Gingerbread.
Benchmark results have improved about 25%.
Some video codecs which were not in froyo, are also included in 2.3.6.
Now its capable of playing almost every video in my PC like .flv , .mp4 etc 720p.
I updated my phone from xdadevelopers.
Previously I updated to 2.3.5 using Kies which was having some issues.
I will suggest everyone to update to 2.3.6.

I have Samsung I9003 Galaxy SL and Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II both having battery issue. I came across App that extends the battery life to further 2-4 hrs for general user. MUST HAVE Apps...... for Android
1. Easy Battery Saver (i use General power saving Mode)that switch of data and wifi when SG is not in use.
2. Easy Task Killer Advanced (cleans RAM every half an Hr. close unwanted App)
3. MyProfiles Lite ( with two profile working as Day Time and Night Time, with brightness for day 40% and for night 25%. Automatic brightness setting consumes more power in my opinion, sound, vibration ect.)

Gingerbread v2.3.5 is the best update to this unit,mine since updating to this version,all works fast and smooth,no lagged at all...v2.3.6 is best with Galaxy Y...Hope this will help you SL updaters:)

Becoz l am also using 32gb(transcend) memory card.. & it works perfectly fine without any issues.. N about media scanning it occurs only if u restart the fone or else copy/move/del the files... Which is common in all android fones..

TO all those ppl who have froyo 2.2.1 on i9003 and dieing to update it to 2.3.6. i will advice not to do that!!
heres my story... and this is ture
i had 2.2.1 it was working quite well but i was very excited about gingerbread so i attatched it to kies and updated it to 2.2.6 now all the hell break loose on me instead of upgrading samsung downgraded the phone they do that to make us buy another from from them.
Music: i mostly use my phone for music and the music quality is shit now they have done some changes in its quality and now it doesnot sound good the preset are not giving the quality of sound that they used to give just treble no bass.
usage: i clearly see lag when using app drawer changing between screen sometime a button is pressed while changing the screen.
Camera: they have degraded the camera aswell guess what they have increased the picture and video size and the downgraded the quality. on froyo i could make more then 1 hour movie using just internal memory at 720P now after upgrade to gingerbread i can only make 10 to 15 mins of movie this is bullshit and camera result is very bad now.
Ram: on froyo my phone used around 200 mb of ram but in gingerbread it uses around 300 and if u clear it just goes down to 250/60.
it doesn't end here i contacted the service center and asked them to down grade it to froyo again and they did. now the camera was not working i again gave it to correct the problem and guess what they again installed gingerbread in it. i hate samsung now i am going to sell it now so my friends don't upgrade your phone or you will regret the very moment you decided to do so.learn from my mistake.

Awsome phone in this budget.Battery, Display, Speed, Sensitivity..all are great. I've used a lot of high tech and costly gadgets. It doesn't feel cheap :)Highly recommended..!!

Battery performance is not good, should have given flash for camera, mobile gets hange.
