mhebz, 30 May 2013my problem was...i used this unit Samsung i9003 galaxy SL f... moreyou cannot overcharge you phone as it has a built-in protector.. it automatically shuts-down if it is charged well enough, the reason it is bootlooping (returning to welcome) is you probably downloaded a malware/spyware.. from Goog Play..now if you have an antivirus it going to prevent it from completing the initial booting up. hence its bootlooping... hard reset that thru Odin and install a new firmware .. its a good phone.. you just have to know the limit of its capacity.. thanks

I purchased it about 1.5 years back, Once I put some other local charger and the board burnt off. I replaced it for 5,500/- at samsung service centre. Now the battery wont come more than an hour. Nokia phones are best as per my experience.Samsung spares are costlier then their phones.

I bought this phone in Dec, 2011. After 6 months it started problem of hang, discharge of battery within one hour, Photos not saving and many more.
Last year November I shown this in Samsung service center and they changed its mother board (free of cost under warranty). Now again its showing same problem...it touch screen is perfectly ok. Now I am feeling better to try Nokia

I wont recommend this phone to anybody. Two years back i purchased it for 20500/-. Now its touch screen and home key are malfunctioning. Touch screen replacement is the only solution and it costs Rs.6000/- at samsung service Centres.

No one should buy this phone. The screen touch and scroll is slow. It hangs and crashes a lot. You can't even play temple run properly because it runs slow. Buy a better model.

I refer to some posts on bootlooping problem faced by some. There's nothing wrong with the phone hardware. It is due to the software getting corrupted. I had this issue with my Galaxy SL i9003. It used to happen mostly during night, a couple of hours after it has been asleep, that when I wake up, I'd find it in a bootloop with the battery almost drained to the hilt. Nothing would fix it - factory reset from the menu, hard reset with the 3 button combo, nothing. Spending a fortune on replacing motherboard was out of question. I had given up hope and was planning to buy another phone and use this galaxy as a paperweight, when a friend of mine suggested flashing the firmware afresh. I downloaded the firmware (GB 2.3.6) from sammobile.com and flashed it using odin 1.85. Its been almost 2 months now and my galaxy is working so smoothly ever since. Now I'm extremely careful in choosing apps from play store - only time tested and those from reputed vendors are installed on the phone, unlike before when I used to test all kinds of apps from the play store. Beware, buggy apps can brick your phone's software beyond the level of what a factory reset can rescue. Some anti-theft apps say their anti-theft feature is hard-reset proof, which means an app can make changes to a phone beyond a factory reset level (perhaps the NAND memory). So as a corollary, its possible that a buggy app can brick your phone's software beyond a factory reset level. Hence if you have a bootlooping phone; try a fresh firmware flash, it could salvage your phone. And be careful with the apps you choose from play store. Good Luck.

Very nice & stable phone. I am using it for over 2 years now on Gingerbread. Recently thinking of getting a new dual-sim phone just because I don't like to carry 2 phones.

Worst phone I have ever used in my life.
* Switches off, restarts once or twice a day
* Had to replace board even after 6 months.
* Software is slow. Apps Force stops and crashes frequently.
* Some times when we makes a call nothing happens. But, after sometime, say half an hour call goes silently!!!!
Its a complaint phone. I dont argue every phone in this series has the same issue. But, after reading reviews here, I can see, there are many phones in this series having issues like this. So its not better to go for galaxy sl.
