howver it can be done "unofficially" i.e. at your own risk by flashing roms... Read on MoDaCo's posts about rom flashing, there you may get an update to Windows 6.5. i've done it on mine and it's marvelous. i think it's the titanium "*something*" rom [MoDaCo] Google it, you'll find it.
ALso, there's a project on which developers are working, "andromnia" i think which comprises of making android run on the omnia.. it's not yet up to date but it involves a partition system or something like that.. not all buttons will work and it's not worth..

My I900 only uses edge to get connected to TATADOCOMO service though my sim is 3G enabled and 2G,3G networks are available around..
