i've had this phone for about two weeks now and i think its still a very great phone...
most poeple don't give it enough time to really understand hwo to use this phone to the advantage or doesn't take time to learn how to use it
opera is fast, the different home screens are great i think switch it up if you get bored.
and having to see the whole convo when txt messgaging is pretty good since you'll prob forget what you sent before if its a last reply
the keyboard i have no complain so far i use the samsung keypad and i hit 98% most of the time what i intended to hit.
The only complain i have is that it turns off the phone function at 10% battery, i mean its a phone i understand that its trying to save battery, ... but all in all its a phone..
but its not good to keep the phoone on such low batt so what ever
conclusion: excellent phone

Thank you., 06 Mar 2009Hey guys, just a few questions on my mind, hope you could c... moreI was very unhappy with the Omnia... See my comment submitted just now... Another problem with mine is that the touch screen alignment is poor. Some times one has to click above and other times below the icon or button to hit it. This was extremely frustrating. The screen is also very feint. In daylight outside one can not see anything on the screen and it was impossible for me to even dial a number, because one can not see the buttons... The touch screen is in my opinion not good. I reverted back to a Nokia 6234 with normal buttons, simple menus and a screen that can be read in daylight... I'm happy with the Nokia! I will never buy a Samsung or touch screen again...

I got the Omnia recently and had trouble with it from day 1. The Touch screen is not very sensitive and to type one has to press quite hard. The touch screen became les and less sensitive over the past 3 months until it had a dead spot in the centre of the screen, making it impossible to type,no matter what keypad I selected. The R and the T was allways on the dead spot. The phone also locks up several times a day and then needs a hard reset... I was very unhappy with the phone... Sent it for warranty repairs, so I just hope it works when it comes back. I'll never again buy Samsung... just had trouble with them so far...

got my omnia yesterday. i must say, i was satisfied. i've read the manuals/guides and all and i've listened very carefully to the saleswoman demoing the unit. and today, i found out i cannot send SMS to more that 20 recepients. is there anyway it could be changed or that's it already??
i am also having some trouble with the memory thing, last night, it kept prompting about low memory and that i won't be receiving SMS until i've deleted some files. i can't understand how it's happened but it did happen when i haven't even had anything stored on the phone yet. i've read from a previous post that everything has to be saved under MY STORAGE.. is there any setting or whatever where it could be set to automatically put/save everything on my storage?
i would appreciate any help.. thank you so much!! :)

Hey guys, just a few questions on my mind, hope you could clear my doubts:
1. How responsive is Omnia's TFT resistive touchscreen?
2. Are the graphics 240 x 400 pixels good?
Thanks.

KK, 05 Mar 2009Hey Tif Tif,
So i guess its a mutual thing...Its not jus... moreHmm I'll admit that when I got my Omnia I had to ring the mob Im with which is I cant disclose,
In any case all's you should have to do is ring the customer service line for your carrier and tell them the problem OR ask for the internet settings to be sent to your phon, maybe it could also be somethng wrong with their systems?? that can happen..
I had to ring and get settings for my Omnia so yea I'd say thats what you would have to do..
Has the internet ever worked for you?
As for your memory may I ask how many programs you have stored to the 8GB memory?? programs slow the system down quite abit, another thing is whats running in the background that you dont know about? that might be worth looking into,
As for the task manager and camera not working i have no idea why? lol im sorry this is a first I have heard of this problem maybe try resetting the factory settings? something may have moved form its orignal spot and might be affecting it,
usually the security code for a samsung is 0000 or it could be 1234,
Try that and let me know?
And I dont mind helping ^_^ I know how frustrating it is to have no help so I'll do all I can for you ^_^!!!

I looked at the Omnia several times in a Verizon Store before ordering it online. At first I liked the phone but as I began using it and going through the settings, I realized the weakest features are the phone and texting.
Once you make a call the keypad locks down and you must unlock it every time you make an entry, such as if you are going through a menu to get information from the source you called. It also cannot be set to give a message alert reminder, if you miss the initial ring/alert of an incoming call or message, you will not get another audible alert/reminder. So I am having to pickup and look at the phone for alerts if I have set it down for any period.
When texting the inbox could only keep one message after reading. The autocorrect had to be turned off because the phone sometimes forced you to take the spelling it suggested, even if it was the wrong word. The autosuggest for words often insert the suggested word in the middle of the word you were entering, causing me to have to go back and delete the last letters of the word I had already entered.
As things go, Verizon overcharged me for the phone, they say the only way to correct the problem is for me to return the phone and repurchase it at the corrected price…what a mess. I will not be “repurchasing” a Samsung Omnia.
However the camera feature was nice. It had lots of flexibility, took nice images, and is a 5-mega pixel camera with a built in flash!
Something to note, to remove the memory card, you must turn off the phone, remove the back, and then remove the battery to access the memory card. Since the Omnia comes preloaded with so much software, the internal memory does not have much room for photos, music, and other applications….so a memory card is highly recommended.
At times it seems to get overloaded and needs time to catch up. Oddly enough the settings have choices the Omnia will not accept, the settings list different types of keyboards, but the Omnia will only allow you to choose one of them…the Samsung Keyboard.

Internet Explorer Mobile 6 is available on smartphones running Windows Mobile 6.1, but the browser will be available only on new phones running that OS. However, if u r OK whit using unofficial ROMs, don't forget that ones cooked with it will appear soon..
The IE Mobile 6 improvement make browsing on the phone closer experience to browsing on your desktop with sites rendering the same as on the PC screen. New features on the web browser allow the user to complete tasks quicker and faster
